'Bates Motel' Season 2: EP Kerry Ehrin excited to have Bradley 'lose it'

Despite the something of a cliffhanger ending of "Bates Motel" Season 1, the second season premiere didn't pick up with an easy resolution of Miss Watson's death. Instead, the show presented something much more interesting: Bradley (Nicola Peltz) the killer. "There was a little bit of an instinct to not move away from Miss Watson, but not to go full steam ahead into it, for a couple of reasons," executive producer Kerry Ehrin tells Zap2it. "We didn't want it to feel like all of the sudden it was 'CSI.' Yes, it is a murder -- we think -- but in the world of 'Bates Motel,' it seems more interesting and appropriate to kind of give that story the slow burn and to kind of tell it a little more through Norman's point of view instead of through the law's point of view. That was the goal." The decision to have Bradley go so dark in... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/03/bates-motel-season-2-ep-kerry-ehrin-excited-to-have-bradley-lose-it.html

'Bates Motel: After Hours': Would you tune in weekly?

"Bates Motel" is the latest in a very long line of shows to get an after-show. What Chris Hardwick did with "The Talking Dead," seemingly everyone wants to try with their own hour-long cable dramas."Bates Motel: After Hours" is a one-time-only special for new, to break down the Season 2 premiere, but is it something you'd be interesting in seeing on a more full-time basis? The episode was hosted by Carrie Keagan and included the cast of the show, along with executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin. The main problem with it though, was the fact that it didn't follow "Bates Motel," "Those Who Kill" did. Though "Bates Motel" was done at 10 p.m. ET, "After Hours" didn't go live until 11 p.m. That sort of diminishes the excitement. If A&E were to extend "After Hours" to a weekly program, following "Bates Motel," would you tune in? Vote in the poll below. Would you watch... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/03/bates-motel-after-hours-would-you-tune-in-weekly.html

'Bates Motel' Season 2: Michael O'Neill enters 'dark world'

Michael O'Neill knows anything goes when you check into "Bates Motel."Playing straight-arrow Secret Service man Ron Butterfield on "The West Wing" set the actor on a long run of authority figure roles, though he also wrought hospital havoc as the shooter in the Season 6 finale of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy." He's closer to that end of the spectrum again as Season 2 of A&E's "Psycho" prequel begins Monday (March 3).Nick Watson, O'Neill's new character, is the father of ill-fated teacher Miss Watson (Keegan Connor Tracy). His probe of her death eventually, and inevitably, leads him to Norma and Norman Bates (Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore)."It's a remarkable project to come into," the very amiable O'Neill tells Zap2it, "because of the writing and acting company. It's a dark world they've created, and I thought, 'The poor Bates family. With their own pathologies, they couldn't have picked a worse place to move to.' It's a lot of fun... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/03/bates-motel-season-2-premiere-michael-oneill-fears-for-the-poor-bates-family.html

'Bates Motel' Season 2 preview: Norma realizes Norman might be a monster

"Bates Motel" is going to hit the ground running when it returns with Season 2. A behind-the-scenes preview of the new season shows the way it will pick up after Miss Watson's death. "That mother-son relationship I don't think has ever really been explored; that your child could potentially be a monster," Farmiga says. Dylan (Max Thieriot) is caught in the war behind families, and it looks like Norman isn't the only one who's going to be dealing with mysterious deaths.
