The Real Housewives of New York City: Bethenny Frankel's Fake Engagement and a Possible Lawsuit

Bethenny Frankel has been the subject of controversy even when the cameras aren't rolling on The Real Housewives of New York City . For some time now, she's been rumored to be engaged to new boyfriend Jason Hoppy, who is reportedly in pharmaceutical sales and real estate. She's also been rumored as the housewife who would not be returning for the new season of The Real Housewives of New York City since she now has her own series, Skinny in the City, which will follow Frankel as she plans her wedding to Hoppy. However, word on the street is that it's all just a big PR stunt. "The engagement is fake," an inside told Foxnews.com, adding that in "reality" Hoppy is a medical sales rep/personal trainer, not a "property guru." Pop Tarts has also learned that he is not licensed as a sales person or broker in New York. A rep for Frankel did not respond for comment. If Frankel's engagement is really just a sham, could this mean that her co-stars on The Real Housewives of New York City are also aware of it? Unlike some of Frankel's previous boyfriends, Hoppy has gotten approval from Frankel's friends on the show. Real Housewife star Jill Zarin even thinks that "he's good for her." Meanwhile, that's not the least of Frankel's worries. If her reality series hits the air, she might face a legal case. Many people are reportedly less-than-impressed with the name swipe Skinny in the City, which obviously rings a bell to HBO's Sex and the City. "While I am obviously surprised by this news, I have always felt imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. That being said, we are taking the protection of our brand and trademark extremely seriously," said registered dietitian Tanya Zuckerbrot, who also runs a popular weight loss website www.skinnyandthecity.com. HBO is very sensitive to any titles bearing even a passing resemblance to their own cult classic series. A rep for the network said they will look into whether they will pursue legal action for copyright over the murmured Skinny & the City Bravo series. Source Here

The Real Housewives of New York City: Bethenny Frankel Engaged, Moving to Her Own Show?

Now we know one housewife who isn't returning for the new season of The Real Housewives of New York City . According to RadarOnline.com, Bethenny Frankel will bid farewell to the Bravo series where she catapulted to fame as she now stars on her own series, Skinny & The City, which will follow Frankel as she plans her wedding to Jason Hoppy. As BuddyTV reported previously, the couple has been dating for eighth months but has managed to keep their relationship under the radar for quite some time. Frankel's rep hasn't confirmed the engagement yet but says marriage is definitely in the cards for the happy couple. Bethenny and Jason first met at NYC nightclub Tenjune. Since then, the couple has attended several events together and went on a romantic vacation in Turks & Caicos in May. She has even reportedly gotten approval from her co-stars on The Real Housewives of New York City, who described Jason as a catch. "I think he's good for her," fellow Real Housewife star Jill Zarin told RadarOnline.com, adding that she and Frankel have been "going through a rough patch" lately. "He's very, very good looking, he doesn't gossip. He's not insecure. You can't be with Bethenny and be insecure." So far, Kelly Bensimone is the only one who has signed on for the new season of The Real Housewives of New York. The rest of the original cast members are reportedly holding out for six-figure deals. Bravo has already confirmed that casting is underway for the new season. Source Here
