Review of Black Mirror

Tuesdays, 3:00 AM ET on Netflix

60 minutes

Over the last ten years, technology has transformed almost every aspect of our lives before we've had time to stop and question it. In every home; on every desk; in every palm -- a plasma screen; a monitor; a smartphone -- a black mirror of our 21st Century existence. Black Mirror is a contemporary British re-working of The Twilight Zone with stories that tap into the collective unease about our modern world.

I absolutely LOVE this show and its social commentary! The showrunner said that the "black mirror" is the reflection we see when we look into our smart phones, TVS and laptops when we turn them off. Each episode is a distinct and twisted take on the things that need changing in the world today because technology has changed the way we live in great ways but also with dire consequences. They manage to do this in a non-preachy way that drives home the point for those who may not have even noticed the issue before watching the episode.

When this show was cancelled I was sad but kept tracking on with hopes of a reboot...RDJ bought the rights to one episode and apparently is planning a movie... then there was a Christmas special in Dec. 2014 and now Netflix has picked up the show for 12 episodes!!! Can't wait. If you haven't watched this yet, you're in for a treat.
