A year after a devastating flood has killed five locals in an idyllic country town, a mysterious new plant appears. The plant's phenomenal ability to restore youth is so formidable that attempting to harness it means re-evaluating values.
This was a well done show with a wonderful cast. As you can see from the tagline, people are given a second chance at youth. It is quite similar to all of those shows that started in 2015 to 2017 that had plot lines about dead people being given a second chance at life... there were soooo many: Les Revenants (FR), Glitch (AU), Resurrection (US), The Returned (US), Babylon Fields (US), and In the Flesh (UK). The common theme being someone gets a do-over; although Bloom is quite different in that the people are not coming back from the dead.
The casting of he old/young versions was quite good and although some bits were predictable, there was always some unaccounted for element that made watching the series worthwhile. I've just started this last week and wrapped up the 12 episodes that make up the first and second season by watching two episodes each day during the coronavirus pandemic. I'm hoping for a season three but if not, it did wrap up well enough to be the end to the series.
