Bosom Buddies Reviews & Ratings

30 minutes

Two admen don wigs and dresses and move into a women-only hotel (named after Susan B. Anthony) after their apartment building is torn down. The sitcom's premise is somewhat shopworn, but the proceedings rarely drag, thanks to the chemistry of its stars (including a young Tom Hanks). The show developed a cult following, even though it lasted only a few seasons.

Bosom Buddies starring Tom Hanks as Kip Wilson and Peter Scolari as Henry Desmond.

Like many shows that aired during the 1980-81 television season, Bosom Buddies suffered from the strike by the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists that occurred in 1980. So, the show had an abbreviated 1st season. First seasons ratings were strong but ABC kept switching the show's day and time slots, which hurt the ratings. The 2nd season, had a new premise, and fared even worse. After more time slot changes by the network, the show was cancelled in the spring of 1982.
