TV ratings: 'Sleepy Hollow' starts strong for FOX Monday, 'Dancing With the Stars' up too

Fast National ratings for Monday, Sept. 16, 2013The first new network series of the 2013-14 season got off to a good start Monday: FOX's "Sleepy Hollow" tied for the lead among adults 18-49 in its hour and helped the network capture the demographic crown for the night. "Sleepy Hollow" was way up over FOX's "Mob Doctor" premiere in the same spot last year and even bested last spring's premiere of "The Following."Also Monday, "Dancing With the Stars" kicked off Season 17 to a bigger audience than last fall's all-star season and better 18-49 numbers than either of last season's cycles. (Those numbers may change a bit in the final nationals as the network's Pittsburgh affiliate carried the "Monday Night Football" telecast.) Fast National ratings for Monday, Sept. 9, 2013The premiere of NBC's game show "The Million Second Quiz" scored decent but not great ratings Monday night, improving a bit the numbers for previous timeslot occupant "American Ninja Warrior." It led its hour across the board but didn't crack a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49.Also Monday, the season finale of ABC's "Mistresses" scored its biggest total audience of the summer and matched its best 18-49 rating. The U.S. Open men's final ran well into primetime on CBS in much of the country, pushing everything else back. "Under the Dome" began airing at 10:30 p.m. ET.CBS led the night with just over 6 million viewers and a 4.0 rating/6 share in households, pending updates for the U.S. Open runover. "Mistresses" moved to an earlier time period and ticked up slightly in the 18-49 demographic from its performance last week.CBS averaged 6.8 million viewers and a 4.3 rating/7 share in households in primetime. NBC (3.9 million, 2.3/4) came in second, a little ahead of ABC (3.7 million, 2.7/4). FOX was fourth with 1.9 million viewers and a 1.2/2.
