This show is truly a classic, and required watching for TV enthusiasts. Considering the glut of teen dark fantasy series we've seen in recent years, it's easy to brush off Buffy as just the start of a trend, like Harry Potter was for YA school fantasy books. This is a mistake. The characters are often difficult, and the story at times can verge on the high-school-drama inane. But there's a purity of tale that is really special among TV shows -- after you watch a season arc, and let it set in, the result is something memorable. I find myself coming back to this show years later to show a friend an episode that portrays some archetype, or perfectly explains some mood I'm in. Buffy somehow manages to preserve the individuality of the episode format, while still leveraging the power of the season arc. I'm not sure if the demands of network TV could accommodate another show like this now, almost 20 years later. But we still have Buffy.

I never watched this much when it was on, a few episodes here and there. Therefore I decided to watch it and was hooked, finished all seasons in over a month. Fantastic show, unforgettable episodes.

This series is just such a classics, I know that the actors in the first seasons are not doing quality acting but it vastly improves and who does not love the sing-a-long episode...

Buffy is the best for a reason, everyone should watch this series at least once.

fantastic show. It is one of those classic shows that no matter how many times you watch it, it never gets old. The writing and acting and directing was flawless throughout the entire show. No matter how many years pass, the story is always relevant and always interesting.

Buffy is the best show ever written. The acting is great. The world building is good. The story arcs though, the story arcs rock my world. The characterization and growth is amazing. There is nothing even close to Buffy and anyone who hasn't watched it, hasn't given it a chance, you do not understand what you are missing.

Don't dismiss this as just another vampire show. I sort of hate vampire shows, don't watch them as a matter of fact, but Buffy is on a whole different level. The place the show builds to character wise by Season 3, 5, 6, and 7 makes every slightly awkward episode, Buffy's clothes in Season 1, all of the weirdness of the show so worth it.

There is no way to explain the depth of this show, the darkness in it, the humor in it, the soul of it. All you can do is watch it. So do that. Watch it. All of it.

This was one of the first 'real' shows I ever watched. I used to watch it together with my mother, it was Buffy that started my unhealthy binge watching habits.
Recently I watched it all over on Netflix, every single episode and I again fell in love with all the characters. There aren't any flat characters in there, no Mary or Gary sue, each character has depth and all the main characters (and more than a few recurring and minor characters)had insane character development in the series. I love the humor and the jokes that didn't seem forced, like they do on so many other shows. I love the relationships between the characters, and the very human and real way they dealt with loss.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer really deserves all the rewards it has won.
