This is not strictly a Stephen King series, it is *based* on the works of Stephen King, but is written by two other people.

I liked Stephen King when I was 18 or 19 but his books are hopelessly unedited and tend, at least at that time, to ramble on and on trying to avoid the point. I grew out of horror and stopped reading King completely.

Of the movies that have been made, The Shawshank Redemption was my favorite, probably because it was not a horror story. It stands out, kind of like that Dragon's Eye book. Totally not horror.

In many ways, Castle Rock (named after the made-up town used in many King works, including Shawshank), is an attempt to make Shawshank into a horror story.

The first three episodes are ok, but 1) there is little to no horror, 2) the story is slow and kind of boring, and 3) the directing (Abbrams) is poorly done like most of his work and leads the viewer by the nose from predictable plot point to predictable plot point... completely ruining any suspence that might have been there with a better director.

I'll probably watch the rest of the series, but only because its the summer and there is nothing else on.

Prediction: The new corporate 'warden' kills herself in the end. {sigh}

I was skeptical at the beginning because of the "Under the Dome" fiasco. In true Stephen King fashion there is a huge mystery, tons of unanswered questions, murder and the supernatural. The actors are top notch specially Cissy Spacek and Bill Skarsgard. It will keep you wondering and in the edge of your seat. The only thing I was not satisfied with was the ending. It didn't tie things together and left things without a "reason".

Coulda, woulda, shoulda but didnt reach five ratings. Left a lot of questions still unanswered maybe to entice us to tune in next season.

Takes a few episodes to see the audience hook, but once you realize what’s going on, the more intriguing it becomes.

A Steven King show so never know what's going on as it slowly let's you in with each episode, just giving you a little more. A mystery for sure, just hope the ending finally reveals what is going on!

This is not something I would normally watch, but since it's summer and many other shows are on hiatus I decided to give it a go. I like the actors and it gives out a decent plot, but it'snot going to be on my must watch- list.

If you like Terror, The sinner, this show is for you. If not, give it a try and won't be dissapointed.

I'm torn – I like where it's going, but I'm terrified of Lost-like threads they just leave as deadends. Seems like there's a lot of subtlety and symbolism I'm missing as well from not being too familiar with King's works.
