TV ratings: 'Criminal Minds' finale leads CBS to Wednesday victory, 'Nashville' up for ABC

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, May 22, 2013The 2012-13 TV season (as measured by Nielsen) ended with a CBS victory, thanks to the two-hour season finale of "Criminal Minds."The crime drama was off significantly from last year's finale, but it did improve a little on its numbers from a week ago. The season finales of "The Middle," "Modern Family" and "Nashville" were all up a bit for ABC. "Law & Order: SVU" ticked up with its finale on NBC, but "Chicago Fire" slipped from last week. "Masterchef" opened its season to decent ratings on FOX.CBS finished the night with just under 9 million viewers and a 5.8 rating/10 share in households. ABC (6.9 million, 4.5/7) came in second, a little bit ahead of NBC (6.3 million, 4.4/7). FOX took fourth with 5.2 million viewers and a 3.2/5. TV ratings: 'The Voice' beats 'Idol' head-to-head Wednesday, 'Modern Family' drops

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, May 8, 2013A special episode of "The Voice" Wednesday night beat "American Idol" head-to-head in adults 18-49, although neither show put up very big numbers. "The Voice" had its lowest 18-49 rating of the season (not a big surprise, given that it wasn't its normal night), while "Idol's" first hour was low in both viewers and the demographic.The second half of "Idol" improved some and helped carry FOX to a win for the night. All three of CBS' shows were up over last week, and the "Voice" lead-in helped "Law & Order: SVU" and "Chicago Fire" improve over last week. On the down side, "Modern Family" slid to a season low for ABC.FOX averaged 10.8 million viewers and a 6.7 rating/11 share in households in primetime, beating out CBS (9.7 million, 6.1/10) by a little more than a million viewers. 'Chicago Fire' Boss Optimistic About Season 2, Spinoff

NBC's "Chicago Fire" executive producer Dick Wolf told reporters that he is highly optimistic about a season renewal for the drama.
