Cougar Town Needs to Resolve Its Travis and Laurie Issues Already

Last night's Cougar Town serves as an effective bridge between the show's ABC run and its upcoming TBS one, gently closing out the show's Jules-and-Grayson wooing phase with a sweet and appropriate sitcom wedding. There's no reason to think the show can't make the leap to basic cable with its quirks and silliness intact, but "My Life/Your World" did point to one major issue the show needs to confront and soon: Travis and Laurie. Since the beginning, Dan Byrd and Busy Phillips have played up the flirtatiousness of their characters' banter, and each season has nudged the characters a little closer together. Finally last night, after years of build-up and several close calls, Travis confessed his love in a drunken haze of confidence and nudity. But even that didn't seem to resolve much of anything, followed as it was by meaningful glances and good-natured mutual understanding. 'Cougar Town': Did Jules And Grayson Tie The Knot?

The Season 3 Finale of " Cougar Town " (Tue., 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC) marked the end of the series on ABC . But did it also mark the beginning of a new stage in Jules ( Courteney Cox ) and Grayson's ( Josh Hopkins ) relationship? After failing to elope to Napa the couple decided to tie the knot on the beach instead. But the cops arrived to break up the illegal shindig, so Jules said, "let's take this on the road." As they walked along the beach Jules' dad Chick ( Ken Hopkins ) conducted the impromptu ceremony and finally said the word so many viewers had been waiting for: "I now pronounce you man and wife. Now let’s all just stop walking and watch this young man kiss his bride." Cue the lingering kiss and happy ending that "Cougar Town" fans have been rooting for. "Cougar Town" will be back for Season 4 in early 2013 on TBS . Cougar Town Boss Bill Lawrence on the Season Finale, Moving to TBS and Killing Big Carl

Our favorite wine-guzzling cul-de-sac crew is headed for some major changes on Cougar Town — and we're not just talking about the recent passing of Big Carl (R.I.P old friend!) Tuesday's hour-long season finale (8/7c on ABC) will see the gang migrate west to Napa for Jules ( Courteney Cox ) and Grayson's ( Josh Hopkins ) wedding. But will they actually tie the knot?  Behind the scenes, the episode marks the comedy's last hurrah on ABC before it moves to TBS for Season 4. The change also includes a new showrunner who will take over the day-to-day duties from co-creators and executive producers Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel . But fans should rest assured: Lawrence and Biegel aren't going anywhere. Lawrence talked with TVGuide.com about the wedding-themed season finale, the move to TBS, his involvement next season and why Big Carl had to go...  //www.tvguide.com/News/Cougar-Town-Bill-Lawrence-Season3-Finale-1048240.aspx?rss=breakingnews

Cougar Town Season Finale Sneak Peeks: Jules and Grayson are Getting Married

The impending nuptials of Jules and Grayson have been driving the third season of Cougar Town from the time he proposed. Like it or not, if you were in the couple's world in any extent, you had to deal with the typical wedding worries, only Jules-ified. There have been storylines dedicated to Trav "auditioning" to be the wedding photographer, a maid-of-honor competition between Ellie and Laurie, and Grayson asking for Chick's blessing, but the time for preparation is over. There's about to be a Cul-de-Sac Crew wedding and yes, it may be time to panic. You'd think, at least. A finale wedding is typically hectic, full of mishaps and a whole lot of misunderstandings, but it looks like the only confusion here is Jules and her six viewings of Groundhog Day. (No spoilers!) But really, Jules and Grayson are surprisingly calm for a couple about to walk down the aisle, possibly thanks to their decision to elope. Jules has a very hard time letting go of control, particularly of her dream wedding following a, ahem, modest ceremony with Bobby, but her love for Grayson may actually override the need to be in command. Courteney Cox cheers 'Cougar Town's' move to TBS

In the wake of TBS picking up "Cougar Town" after ABC dropped it, Courteney Cox tells Zap2it, "I am looking forward to being on a network where we will get a lot of support."No need to read between the lines. She pretty much says what had long been known in the industry -- the cast and showrunners had felt ABC was not helping the show enough."They will promo us like crazy," Cox says of TBS, which will begin airing new episodes of "Cougar Town" early next year.Co-creator Bill Lawrence is stepping down as showrunner, but Cox says, "I feel like he will take care of us in whatever capacity he can, as much as he can. But I feel like we will be taken care of. And he is so amazing."After three seasons of playing Jules Cobb, a divorced mom who knows the benefits of an enormous glass of wine, Cox is happy to continue... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/05/courteney-cox-cheers-cougar-towns-move-to-tbs.html
