Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders Recap 3/22/17: Season 2 Episode 3 “The Devil’s Breath”

A dead American had the IRT taking their plane to Bogota, Columbia on tonight’s all new episode however Drew Dafaoe had officially been declared a suicide. Dew was believed to have jumped from the roof of his hotel. However, Drew’s girlfriend Paola who was a Columbian native had said Drew wouldn’t have committed suicide and had even filed a complaint with the US Embassy because she had wanted a second investigation. So at first glance, Paola does seem like she was right. Her boyfriend hadn’t suffered any financial or mental problems recently and he had also declared an engagement ring with customs when he flew to Columbia. Meanings he had planned on proposing to Paola. And, therefore, he didn’t sound like someone that would kill himself. But the IRT had had a problem when they landed. They unfortunately had to deal with Detective Benavides and he didn’t want the US Embassy or the IRT telling him that his investigation had been suspect. So the detective went out of his way to make things difficult for the team and he even had some help with that from the hotel. The hotel had cleared out Drew’s hotel room, cleaned it, and had already rented it out before the team had even landed yet Garrett had thankfully didn’t let that deter his team and had suggested they all split up to cover ground. He and Clara would talk to the girlfriend meanwhile Matt and Mae would check the crime scene. READ MORE...

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders Recap 3/15/17: Season 2 Episode 2 “Il Mostro”

The IRT had been informed that two Americans were killed in Italy. They had apparently been in the country because of a year abroad program however they had driven to the outskirts of the city to have some alone time when they were interrupted by the most prolific killer in history. The killer was known as the Monster of Florence or Il Mostro in the Italian language and he had a certain MO. He would find a couple that were usually in the throes of passion and he would shoot both victims. But the Unsub would also go to mutilate the female victims postmortem. So he had done so with Gina Prince and had even arranged her body to fit a certain pose while he more or less left Peyton Moss alone. However, the team knew right away that Il Mostro wasn’t going to be easy to catch. He had been around for a few years and he had so far managed to stay one step ahead of the Italian Special Task Force as well one step ahead of the latest technology. So the first thing the team did when they landed was split up. Jack and Matt went to the crime scene to determine how the two Americans died meanwhile Mae performed her own autopsy and Clara worked with Commissario Galterio Conde going through all the records. There were files on what one officer believed was evidence and another file that was basically a wild hunch. READ MORE...

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders Premiere Recap 5/25/16: Season 2 Episode 1 “Lost Souls”

The FBI’s International Response Team was back for an all new season of crime fighting however tonight’s case had been a bit of a doozy. The IRT had been called to Tanzania of all places after an entire church group went missing. But, unfortunately, there had been a few other things with this case that just didn’t make sense besides twenty-three missing Americans. There had also been the fact that the group went missing from a train and that were no indications whatsoever that the train had even stopped once. So the guys didn’t know what to think when they heard that because there had simply been too many questions and not enough time yet that left the guys with one option – travel to Tanzania to find out what happened. However, there was always a risk of traveling to foreign countries because there had been a few times when the local police or military have resisted the IRT’s help though that wasn’t the situation with the Tanzanians police. The Tanzanians had actually been glad for the IRT’s aide. They had apparently been battling rumors about the missing Americans in which some of the locals had claimed that the church group had been taken by the rapture. So the police and the lead inspector in the case had often run into people claiming that the Americans were in a better place and otherwise refusing to help. READ MORE...
