‘Criminal Minds’ Season 9 Announced

CBS has renewed Criminal Minds for a ninth season. The popular crime series’ renewal was delayed by contract negotiations, but the network managed to work out deals with all of the primary cast members for another season. Criminal Minds is currently the number one drama series on Wednesdays, and brings CBS’s renewal total for the 2013-2014 broadcast season up to 20 series, including the previously announced The Big Bang Theory, Elementary, 2 Broke Girls and Two and a Half Men. 'Criminal Minds' renewed for Season 9, A.J. Cook and Kirsten Vangsness returning

CBS has picked up "Criminal Minds" for 2013-14, and the current BAU team will remain intact next season.A CBS rep confirms to Zap2it that the entire cast will return for Season 9. Several cast members were at the end of their contracts this season, and A.J. Cook and Kirsten Vangsness had reportedly threatened to leave the show if their salaries weren't brought up to parity with those of their male co-stars. Thomas Gibson, Joe Mantegna and Shemar Moore also have new deals in place (Matthew Gray Gubler and Jeanne Tripplehorn were already under contract). According to Deadline, Cook and Vangsness each got substantial raises that brings their pay much closer to what Moore and Gubler make."Criminal Minds" was one of only a handful of CBS shows not renewed back in March, in large part due to the contract negotiations. 'Criminal Minds' Season 9: Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook reportedly turn down offers, unhappy with female cast treatment

There has been some drama lately surrounding "Criminal Minds," one of only a few shows at CBS not to have been either renewed or canceled for the upcoming television season. Last week, showrunner and EP Erica Messer inked a new deal with CBS that leaves her at the helm of the ship for a potential Season 9 and now Deadline reports that all the stars have received final offers from the network. Reportedly, Thomas Gibson and Joe Mantegna are close to re-upping with the popular crime drama, while Shemar Moore is still ensconced in negotiations. Furthermore, Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook have reportedly turned down their final offers from the network -- they are unhappy with the female stars being paid so much less than the male ones and are willing to walk if there isn't something done to correct that.There was a dust-up regarding the female cast members back in 2010, when A.J.
