Should Louis Van Amstel Be a Judge on Dancing With the Stars?

Len Goodman Speaks Out on His 'Dancing' Feud With Maks Chmerkovskiy (VIDEO)

Everyone's buzzing about the feud that erupted between Maks Chmerkovskiy and 'Dancing With the Stars' judge Len Goodman when Maks forcefully pushed back against Goodman's critique of his latest dance with Hope Solo. Goodman stopped by 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC) to offer his perspective on the argument. "How often, in the heat of the moment, we say things that the next day we think 'why did I say that?'" he asked. "Maks is going through that right now." Goodman isn't taking the back-and-forth personally, though. "I like Maks, we're good buddies, we play golf together," Goodman noted, before taking a jab at Maks' golf-swing. He then further clarified the judges' role on 'DWTS.' "What they've got to understand is ... they're on trial, and we're the judges. You can't be a judge at your own trial," Goodman said. //www.aoltv.com/2011/10/25/len-goodman-speaks-out-feud-maks-chmerkovskiy-dwts-video/

Does 'DWTS' Head Judge Len Goodman Need a Vacation?

Is the strain of his heavy workload and weekly transatlantic commute starting to take its toll on 'Dancing With the Stars' head judge Len Goodman? He and Bruno Tonioli have a punishing schedule, pulling double duty judging 'DWTS' during the week, and then flying back to the UK to judge the BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing' at the weekend. Now Len's had blow-ups with pro dancers on both shows in the space of just a few days. Is he crankier than usual? Last night he and Maksim Chmerkovskiy had a major falling out after Maks interrupted Len's harsh critique of his rumba. That bust up followed a furious on-air altercation with 'Strictly' dancer James Jordan on Saturday night, during which Len told him, "All you have to do is turn up, keep up and shut up." Is an irascible Len overdue for a vacation? Well, luckily for him he'd already booked one before it got nasty on the dancefloor(s). It's been announced that Len is taking a week off from 'Strictly' next month, and subbing-in for him as guest judge on Nov. 5 and 6 will be none other than 'DWTS' Season 11 champ , Jennifer Grey. //www.aoltv.com/2011/10/25/does-len-goodman-need-a-vacation/

'Dancing With the Stars': Chaz Bono scares up a 19 with 'Phantom' tango

Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer got all dramatic with their "Phantom of the Opera"-themed tango for "Dancing With the Stars" Broadway week. Despite the cool costumes and music, the judges were not over the moon about the dance.Len criticized Chaz's hold, saying it should be stronger. Bruno said the character of the Phantom didn't fit Chaz, but Carrie Ann said it was the most aggressive we've seen Chaz and she wants more content. They only gave him two sixes and a seven (Carrie Ann). Frankly, we would've handed out 10s to the vocalist - way take on the high "ahh" part at the end, lady. Was it the best of the night?... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/10/dancing-with-the-stars-ricki-lakes-quickstep-earns-her-more-10s.html

'Dancing With the Stars': Kristin Chenoweth plays 'risk-taker' for two nights

Kristin Chenoweth is spending plenty of time in a certain ballroom. The singing-acting dynamo, an owner of Tony and Emmy Awards, will perform on both airings of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" this week. She'll do Broadway numbers tonight (Monday, Oct. 24), then showcase her current turn toward country music during the results episode Tuesday (Oct. 25)."The show is very old-school, so I'm glad they're doing Broadway Night," Chenoweth tells Zap2it as she heads into rehearsal for it. "I'm doing 'Maybe This Time' from 'Cabaret' and 'I Could Have Danced All Night' from 'My Fair Lady.' I've been singing these songs for a long time, and whenever I revisit them, I realize just how amazing the lyrics and the melodies are."That's ['Cabaret' composers] Kander and Ebb, and Rodgers and Hammerstein [of 'My Fair Lady' fame]. I wouldn't say they don't write them like that anymore, but I do feel I was born at the wrong time.... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/10/dancing-with-the-stars-kristin-chenoweth-plays-risk-taker-for-two-nights.html
