'Entertainment Tonight': Co-anchor Nancy O'Dell having a 'crazy' good time

Nancy O'Dell is just two months into the job, but she feels as if "Entertainment Tonight" has been her television home forever.The weekday co-anchor of the syndicated entertainment-news program has succeeded long-running predecessor Mary Hart in that role, and after a decade on the rival "Access Hollywood," she says she's been having a "phenomenal" time alongside fellow "ET" anchor Mark Steines in presenting the given day's showbiz stories."I feel like I've got the heaven of a job," O'Dell tells Zap2it. "The majority of the producers have been there ever since the beginning of the show [in 1981], so the professionalism level is crazy. And they're just good people. It's very cool to work there. Nancy O'Dell to Replace Mary Hart on Entertainment Tonight

Nancy O'Dell has been tapped to replace Mary Hart on Entertainment Tonight, executive producer Linda Bell Blue announced Monday. "I remember watching Entertainment Tonight when it first premiered and dreaming about working for the show someday," O'Dell said in a statement. "I am honored to be the one chosen to fill a TV legend's seat and I hope I can do her proud!" In August, Hart announced she'd be leaving the show after Entertainment Tonight's 30th season. Hart, a 1999 Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame inductee, joined ET in 1982. "Leaving this job was not an easy decision, but knowing I will pass the baton to Nancy O'Dell makes that decision much easier," Hart said. "Nancy is a talented and respected entertainment correspondent. We have spent many years working on opposite sides of the celebrity battlefield and I know the show will flourish with Nancy as co-anchor." O'Dell, 44, previously co-hosted Access Hollywood. Mary Hart Exiting Entertainment Tonight

Longtime Entertainment Tonight host Mary Hart will leave the syndicated show after its upcoming 30th season, she announced Thursday. "I've had the privilege of spending 29 years doing something I love - how often does that happen?" Hart, 59, said in a statement. "I only meant to be at ET for three years, suddenly it's almost 30! Melissa Rycroft Joins Entertainment Tonight

Melissa Rycroft has snagged her second reporting gig. The Bachelor reject and Dancing with the Stars alum, who now reports for Good Morning America, has joined Entertainment Tonight as a special correspondent, TVGuide.com has confirmed. Rycroft's beat will include award shows, premieres, set visits and parties. Her first assignment, covering the "We Are the World" remake recording session, aired Wednesday. Rycroft, 26, who wed insurance agent Tye Strickland in December after getting dumped by ex-Bachelor Jason Mesnick, also worked on the Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest special.
