Father Ted Reviews & Ratings

30 minutes

Father Ted was a popular 1990s television situation comedy set around the lives of three priests on the extremely remote (and fictional) Craggy Island off the west coast of Ireland. It ran for three series, totalling 25 episodes, between 21 April 1995 and 1 May 1998 on the UK's Channel 4. Father Ted was written by Arthur Mathews and Graham Linehan, who also co-created Big Train. All of the interior scenes were shot at The London Studios, while all of the location footage was shot in Ireland.

One of the best sitcoms ever produced. Hilarious, likeable characters, each very different. It is such a shame that Dermot Morgan died and no more could be made (the actor who played Father Ted). One of those shows where it is impossible to pick out a favourite episode because there are so many. I recommend this irreverent gem to everyone. Do you think you'll watch it? Ah go on, go on, go on...

Dermot Morgan's final performance is his magnum opus: Father Ted is a sitcom of unsurpassed quality. If I'm only ever allowed to watch one sitcom for the rest of eternity, this would be it.

Irish humor isn't for everyone. That being said, anyone who doesn't enjoy this immensely can feck off! It was so popular when it aired, it's like Friends...you can watch all the episodes and never bore of them.

Funny, amusing and as much humour as Monty Python. This will put you in hospital with broken ribs from laughing so much.

The gloriousness of Father Ted!
Have a watch you will be rolling on the floor with laughter as these 3 ministers of the cloth navigate parish life along with their housekeeper. Spoiler alert!- the retired one is the most fun!

A true comedy classic. Irish humour at it's very best with four comedy stars and some excellent writing all backed up with great cameos from other comedians. This will go down as one of the best comedies of all time.

No, I don't understand. You were already dressed as a priest, so why did you switch clothes?

Ah, it was just going that way.

The national comedy of Ireland, as important as Guinness or fights at crossroads.
