SF Anime Series ‘Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet’ Begins Hulu Distribution

Neon Alley has brought its next show to the Hulu service today with the debut of  Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet . The thirteen episode series was originally simulcast by Crunchyroll and then licensed for home video release by Viz Media last year. Neon Alley is bringing out their digital distribution of the show now and will be highlighting it later when the dub is completed ahead of the physical media release. ‘Gargantia On The Verdurous Planet’ Sequel Anime Season Becomes OVA Series

The  official site  for  Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet  has updated with new information that was revealed at the AnimeJapan 2014 trade show this weekend in that the property will be getting a new two part OVA series. The original series and single follow-up OVA, which was broadcast during the first half of 2013, has been picked up for home video release in the US by Viz Media and in the UK by Manga Entertainment UK. The new OVA series is slated for a fall debut where it will follow the recent trend of a number of OVAs getting a limited theatrical run in a few theaters first before heading to home video. Manga Entertainment UK Acquires ‘Gargantia On The Verdurous Planet’ Anime License

Manga Entertainment UK has announced a new pickup today with the acquisition of the Production I.G. series  Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet , aka  Suisei no Gargantia . The series aired in the spring of 2013 and was directed by Kazuya Murata with a script by Gen Urobuchi, who wrote the  Fate/Zero and  Black Lagoon  light novels and several anime scripts includeing  Psycho-Pass  and  Madoka Magica . A second season has been announced for the show in Japan and Viz Media picked it up for a North American release, which means a dub will be coming for it that Manga Entertainment UK can potentially use as well. ‘Gargantia On The Verdurous Planet’ Anime Gets Sequel

Good news for fans of  Gargantia On The Verdurous Planet  as the series, which aired this past spring, has gotten approval for a sequel season to go ahead. The details are of course pretty minimal at this time as it was announced by the official Twitter account, which you can see below, but it’s expected for a 2014 broadcast. The series is one that is getting a second airing in Japan at the moment on Tokyo MX TV, as noted by ANN, which also ran a commercial for the announcement as well, which you can see below. ‘Gargantia On The Verdurous Planet’ OVA Episode Promo Debuts

While the series finished its broadcast run a few weeks ago, there’s still a bit more ahead for fans of  Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet  as an OVA is being included in the first Blu-ray box set that’s due on August 28th. Viz Media Adds ‘Gargantia On The Verdurous Planet’ Anime Series & OVA Rights

Viz Media continues to beef up its catalog of titles with some recent shows by grabbing the rights to  Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet . This pick up is similar to other recent ones in that it includes streaming, home video and merchandise rights. Viz intends to show the series dubbed on its Neon Alley service as well as streaming the subtitled version of it on VizAnime.com and Hulu.com as it goes along. Crunchyroll Adds ‘Gargantia On The Verdurous Planet’ For Spring 2013 Anime Lineup

Crunchyroll has yet another simulcast announcement slotted up today for a new show that kicks off this weekend with  Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet . The new series from Production I.G. will land on Sundays, starting April 7th, at 1pm ET for premium members and a week later for free members.
