In Tokyo, an otherworldly portal appears, releasing an attack force of soldiers and monsters. The Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) repels the enemy with advance weapons, then passes through the Gate to establish peace negotiations with the other world. Yōji Itami is a JSDF officer sent through the portal, where he encounters magic and fantasy creatures. While exploring the other world, named Special Region, he ends up selflessly aiding its people and paving the way for negotiations. However, he humiliates Imperial crown prince Zorzal, to vows vengeance and seizing power, prepares for war with Earth. This forces the JSDF to engage in aggressive combat action, which bringing negotiations with Zorzal's father, Molt Sol Augustus, to a peaceful conclusion.
