Am a huge fan of Robson Green from his series Wire in the Blood so i am going to watch any ways. The show itself has this kind of melancholy vibe which i like also the concept along with the cast is awesome. It's one of the good detective shows not your usual good cop bad cop routine.

A classic British "amateur" detective show, Grantchester follows a vicar through post-WWII Cambridgeshire as he helps the local police solve crime. Characters are expectedly quirky and the scenery lovely. There's a significant subplot surrounding a love triangle with a friend above his station and a German widow. I prefer the mysteries but I also enjoy the stories that humanize Chambers as the balance has managed to stay on the side of crime-solving, not soap opera.

I'm looking forward to more, which we can apparently expect in 2016, sometime.

I have watched the first two episodes and really enjoy the mix of social commentary (war/peace, women's rights, gay rights) and the transition from old England to Post War Britain leading up to the sixties.

The character actors are superb, and the co-leads are both slightly flawed but exude the WHITE MALE POWER in an older and younger version.

An old-fashioned murder story, borrowing from classics (Miss Marple, Inspector Morse, Father Brown) it pays tribute to those who have gone before. It's well done and the characters and the writing are enjoyable. A great way to spend an hour.

If there is one thing the Brit's do right, it is their murder mystery/detective shows. They have been perfecting it for decades and Grantchester is no exception. It is a new and even strange detective pairing, with compelling characters and intriguing mysteries. If you are into this style of drama - it is a must watch!

I really appreciate this show's examination of certain archaic moral dilemmas. The acting is very effective.

Very quaint little show, the sort you could happily watch time and time again.
