TV ratings: Winter Olympics close on low note, Daytona 500 boosts FOX Sunday

Fast National ratings for Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014The 2014 Winter Olympics went out with a whimper in terms of ratings, as the closing ceremony from Sochi delivered some of NBC's lowest numbers of the past two-plus weeks. A preview of "Growing Up Fisher" that started at 10:36 p.m. ET looks as though it will come in more or less where "About a Boy" did on Saturday.Also Sunday, a long rain delay pushed the Daytona 500 into primetime on FOX and gave the network a ratings bump as a result. Opposite the two sports telecasts, "The Amazing Race" had its weakest premiere ever.NBC drew 13.5 million viewers and an 8.0 rating/13 share in households for the night. FOX currently sits in second with 6.3 million viewers and a 3.8/6, pending updates for the live telecast. Growing Up Fisher  series premiere “Pilot” airs Sunday, February 23rd, 2014 at 10:36pm on NBC. Episode Synopsis:  Growing Up Fisher (NBC) Series Premiere “Pilot” – 11-year old Henry (Eli Baker) met the most amazing person he’ll ever meet in his life when he was four-and-a-half minutes old, his dad, Mel Fisher (J.K. Simmons). Mel’s an incredible father and successful lawyer…who happens to be blind. Ever since he can remember, Henry has always been his dad’s eyes and wingman, so when his parents decide to separate, he’s less than thrilled that his job has been outsourced to Mel’s new guide dog, Elvis. Meanwhile, his mother, Joyce (Jenna Elfman), begins a quest to find herself, essentially becoming a teenager in her forties. This is an unfortunate turn for the family’s actual teenage daughter, Katie (Ave Deluca-Verley), who finds herself reluctantly taking on the maternal role in the family.
