'Hannah Montana' Diabetes Episode to Finally Air

Ten months ago, an episode of " Hannah Montana " failed to go on air because parents are complaining that it doesn't portray diabetes in the right way. Good news comes from Disney Channel that the episode called "Sugar, No Sugar" will eventually make it on air under the new title "Uptight (Oliver's Alright)". The episode is about Oliver dealing with the diagnosis that he got diabetes. "Our idea was that Oliver had a really bad case of diabetes and he couldn't eat any sugar and then a lot of the people were saying, 'No, people with diabetes can still eat sugar. This is wrong! You're teaching kids wrong messages'," Mitchel Musso who plays Oliver said back then. Airing on September 20, the episode is slightly altered although the story contains some truth after all. "But it's not wrong," Mitchel added. "There are people out there who cannot have sugar. That's just the way of life." In its statement, Disney said "We sincerely hope you will find that this revised story more accurately incorporates the subject of living with Type 1 diabetes, with the theme of the character Oliver learning to rely on his friends for support, no matter what challenges may arise." Hannah Montana: Miley Cyrus Does Make Mistakes

Okay, she reasons out that she's 16 and not perfect, so we really shouldn't expect so much from her being the role model of millions of girls worldwide. On her appearance on The Today Show, Miley Cyrus tried to clear up her reputation and told her fans that being in the public eye is difficult when you're human. Humongously famous, yes, but still human. Miley performed at New York's Rockefeller Plaza last week, singing some of her hits like "Party in the U.S.A." and "The Climb." She then discussed what plans she had for her already-successful career. "I want to be able to step out and maybe take a break for a while and write music that inspires me," the Hannah Montana star said. "I think there's always a formula ... I think the best way to do that is put it out of the way and do something new." She also talked about her upcoming movie. "It's gonna be crazy 'cause in January, that's when 'The Last Song' comes out, so that's going to be kind of rad and kind of dark and kind of a drama. And [then I] go back to 'Hannah Montana.' It's going to be great!" As for being in the public eye, she added that she's still bound to make mistakes. Don't we know it. "I'm not here to say I'm perfect 'cause I'm far from it," Cyrus admitted. "My mistakes are kind of a little bit harder because they are in front of millions and millions of people. It's hard sometimes to smile about it, but it also makes you want to try harder the next time." The thing is, the mistakes she's making aren't exactly the kind any other teenager would be caught up in. Still, she'll apologize for whatever she did and the public will accept it, just because she's Miley Cyrus. Normal 16-year-olds can't pull that off, which is why people expect more from this girl. Anyway, MTV News reports that she's due for another appearance on the new Jay Leno Show on September 16. Well, she'll probably start talking about her mistakes again and we'll hear the same old excuses. As Miley implies, let's not expect too much from her then. Source here

Hannah Montana: New Single by Miley Cyrus Leaked

Miley Cyrus might have enough power over her millions of fans, but she can't control them from being a bit overenthusiastic about her music. A new single from the Hannah Montana star was apparently leaked online, when it was supposed to premiere on Monday. MTV News reports that "Party in the USA" was ready to appear on an upcoming exclusive Wal-Mart EP, debuting along with Miley's Max Azria clothing line. According to Idolator, the song that was leaked was a demo version. In the original one, the singer mentions stars like Jay-Z and Britney Spears in the lyrics. As for the subsequent version of "Party in the USA," the name of Jay-Z was replaced with that of Kanye West. Also, the New York Post's PopWrap has reported that the single is sort of this upbeat, semiautobiographical track. It revolves around Miley's move from Tennessee to Los Angeles, which many fans would be excited to hear about. Unfortunately, one thing we won't be hearing about is a statement from the Hannah Montana star's reps. Her label, Hollywood Records, wasn't able to comment on the issue of the leaked song. Then again, they're probably busy setting things up for the debut of her clothing line. This August marks the launch of Miley Cyrus' fashion line in Wal-Mart stores. The 16-year-old teen sensation even posted pictures of it on her Twitter page, thrilled about the news. "So excited about Miley and Max :) yayy!" she wrote. Meanwhile, she took the reports about her leaked single "Party in the USA" lightly. What was more important to her is the response of the audience to it. "How did my friggen song get leaked???" she Tweeted to Perez Hilton. "Whatevs. Do you likey?" For those who want to have a listen to the song, head over to PopWrap's post here. We're sure Miley wouldn't mind, since whatever she produces causes those rabid fans to go crazy. Plus, the actual release date's only a weekend away anyway. Source Here

High School Musical: Zac Efron to Accompany Miley Cyrus in 'Gidget' Remake?

Apparently, Miley Cyrus' little crush on High School Musical star Zac Efron has led to something even bigger. While she's not exactly making any moves on him, the two have been slated for roles in the upcoming remake of the classic film series Gidget. Moviehole reports that the Hannah Montana tween sensation will be portraying the role that catapulted Sally Field to fame. With the movie being a musical comedy, there's no doubt they're going to need Miley Cyrus' pipes to pull it off. Efron has reportedly been approached to be her leading man, but there hasn't been any confirmation from the actor. The reboot of Gidget will supposedly be the first for a long line of films, and is about a young girl who discovers a passion for surfing. Along the way, she ends up falling for a guy on that one fateful summer. As one of the first "beach movies" back in the day, Gidget was originally a 1959 film starring Sandra Dee. It became quite a hit, spawning several sequels and TV movies. The ABC television series with Sally Field in the title role aired in 1965, but was canceled after one season. Zac Efron will most likely play a modern day version of singer and actor Frankie Avalon (who performed on American Idol last April), though it's something he might not go for. Given his recent choices in acting gigs like turning down Footloose for more serious roles, it's doubtful he'll jump at the chance for a part in Gidget. Miley Cyrus might be able to fill in the shoes for the quirky character, even though Zac Efron won't be so interested. He's certainly busy with other projects, currently filming the 2010 drama The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud. Another actress who has been picked for a role is Brittany Snow, but, like Efron, she hasn't commented on the news. Source Here

Miley Cyrus Flies from 'Hannah Montana' to Batgirl?

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus might have bagged the lead role in Wings, but rumor has it that she'll be donning a different pair of flyers sometime soon. It's been reported that Warner Bros. executives are considering her for a role in the sequel to The Dark Knight . Hollyscoop reveals that the 16-year-old Disney princess had already auditioned for the role of Batgirl. An insider said that she "stunned" producers, impressing them by dressing up in a full batsuit. That's certainly a huge leap for her, if she manages to seal the deal. The source went on to discuss Miley's audition, saying "She was sort of hopping around the room and had even written some dialogue for herself. The problem is, some people aren't really convinced Miley has the acting chops to pull it off." Frankly, we think so too. Miley Cyrus may be leaving her Hannah Montana past behind with more "grown-up" roles, but a foray into the Batman franchise doesn't seem to be appropriate. Her mom and manager, Tish Cyrus, isn't exactly the type who'd be ecstatic at letting her daughter wear a batsuit to auditions. Furthermore, it's really difficult to picture her right beside Christian Bale. The Dark Knight, featuring Miley Cyrus - there is just something very wrong with the idea. As for stunning the Warner Bros. producers, they were probably just shocked at her performance. Who wouldn't be surprised to see this teen sensation hopping like a bunny and trying out for a movie such as this? When asked to comment, the popstar's representatives kept mum about the news. They haven't responded to requests for information, which is just as well. Perhaps it's best to just keep the girl busy with filming The Last Song for now. Again, the rumors are too far-fetched to be true, especially with Miley Cyrus' schedule packed with her other endeavors. Source Here
