Another major character from Heroes is returning for NBC’s revival . EW has exclusively learned that Greg Grunberg —who played the telepathic detective Matt Parkman throughout the first iteration of the series—is officially on board for Heroes Reborn. Was 'Heroes' ahead of its time or as bad as you remember?

Sunday (Feb. 8) marks five years since "Heroes" said goodbye. While the show began with a solid started and boasted an all-star cast, by its fourth season fans had basically all abandoned ship and the series ended as a bit of a disaster.TV was very different in 2010 though. When "Heroes" premiered in 2006, superhero and paranormal power series weren't the norm like they are in 2015. Did the show just get too ambitious for its time period and go over people's heads? Would it fare better now that people are more receptive to comic book entertainment in TV form?If being ahead of its time was part of the problem for "Heroes," it was only a very small part. Zachary Quinto Rules Out 'Heroes' Return

Zachary Quinto  has buried fans'  hope  for his return to the forthcoming " Heroes Reborn ". Speaking to  BuzzFeed  at the Sundance Film Festival, he gave a negative answer when asked about whether or not he would reprise his " Heroes " role for the miniseries  project .  "No, I'm not going to go back," he said. "I talked to them about it, and Tim [Kring, series creator] reached  out  to me when they decided they were going to do it. We had a great conversation. NBC Announces 13-Episode ‘Heroes’ Revival ‘Heroes Reborn’ [+Video]

No, this is not an early April Fool’s joke, NBC is reviving  Heroes  for a 13-episode limited special entitled  Heroes Reborn  in 2015. Original creator Tim Kring will be back at the helm, but it is unclear if any of the original cast including the busy Zachary Quinto, Hayden Panettiere (currently on ABC’s Nashville ) or Milo Ventimiglia will be involved in the project.
