TV ratings: 'The Voice' returns to solid numbers, 'Blacklist' and 'Bachelor' rise Monday

Fast National ratings for Monday, Feb. 24, 2014The Season 6 premiere of "The Voice" delivered strong ratings for NBC Monday, dipping a little in adults 18-49 from its fall debut but holding steady with last spring's opener. It also scored its best total-viewer numbers since the post-Super Bowl episode of 2012."The Voice's" return also gave a boost to "The Blacklist," which had its best outing since its fall finale in December. The return of everyone's regular lineup made for a decent night for the networks all-around: "How I Met Your Mother" and "The Bachelor" were both up from their most recent originals, and The CW's "Star-Crossed" held onto most of its premiere audience. FOX's "Almost Human" and "The Following" were more or less even with last week.NBC's 14.25 million viewers and 8.4 rating/13 share in households led the night by a wide margin. ABC (8.3 million, 5.5/9) came in second, beating out CBS (7.2 million,... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/tv-ratings-the-voice-returns-to-solid-numbers-blacklist-and-bachelor-rise-monday.html

'How I Met Your Mother': Making peace with 'Rally' and the run to the finish

Complaining about the time-marking nature of "How I Met Your Mother's" final season is, at this point, not a useful exercise. It's exhausting to write about, it must be exhausting to read about, and it can surely be tough to watch, even in an episode such as Monday's (Feb. 24) "Rally," which had some pretty good comic bits and callbacks to earlier points in the series. This is the path the show chose to take this season, however, and considering filming on the series finale is just about done, it's not changing. So let's all stipulate from here on out that we wish the Mother had been involved earlier and more often in this season, and by extension her future relationship with Ted explored a little more deeply. That while the jumping around in time that has occurred during Barney and Robin's wedding weekend has occasionally been fun (see below) as it filled in old... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/how-i-met-your-mother-making-peace-with-rally-and-the-run-to-the-finish.html

Eliza Dushku for 'How I Met Your Dad'? 'Dollhouse' star says she's reading pilot script

CBS' pilot "How I Met Your Dad" is following in the footsteps of "How I Met Your Mother" in a number of ways. The spiritual spinoff will tell a similar story in a similar time-hopping way -- and maybe, just maybe, it will have a member of the Whedonverse in its cast.Former "Dollhouse" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Eliza Dushku told her 1.5 million Twitter followers Thursday (Feb. 20) that she's reading the pilot script for "How I Met Your Dad." Unsurprisingly, that bit of information caused a stir among her fans, so much so that Dushku followed up with a clarification."#Reading the pilot, folks. No announcement, just a first date -- perhaps this weekend," she writes. She adds, though, that she thinks the script, from "HIMYM" creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and "Up All Night" creator Emily Spivey, "IS kinda #badass."Greta Gerwig has already been cast in "How I Met Your Dad"... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/eliza-dushku-for-how-i-met-your-dad-dollhouse-star-says-shes-reading-pilot-script.html
