'How I Met Your Mother' Season 9: Sherri Shepherd joins Marshall on a very long flight

The final season of "How I Met Your Mother" will give Marshall something to do on his way back to New York for Robin and Barney's wedding: Contend with Sherri Shepherd. The "View" co-host and former "30 Rock" semi-regular will have a recurring part as a woman named Daphne, who's seated next to Marshall (Jason Segel) on his flight back to New York after visiting his mom in Minnesota. Judging by the picture, she and Marshall don't become fast friends. "We're all extremely excited to have Sherri Shepherd joining 'HIMYM' for an arc in Season 9," co-creator Craig Thomas says. "She is hilarious and delightful and perfect for this part."Shepherd's part is recurring because the season will take place almost entirely in the 56-hour timeframe between the Season 8 finale -- which ended with the Mother (Cristin Milioti) buying a train ticket for Farhampton -- and Ted (Josh Radnor) meeting his future wife at Robin (Cobie... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/07/how-i-met-your-mother-season-9-sherri-shepherd-joins-marshall-on-a-very-long-flight.html

Comic-Con 2013: 'How I Met Your Mother,' 'Bones' and more 20th Century Fox TV shows

For the first time ever, "How I Met Your Mother" will be at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2013. The CBS sitcom is one of 11 shows produced by 20th Century Fox Television that will feature at the big event. Other programs expected to have panels include "Bones," "The Simpsons," "Sons of Anarchy" and the new series, "Sleepy Hollow."Most of the shows included on the list are SDCC veterans, but "HIMYM" is a big exception to that. As a sitcom, it's not exactly standard fare for the big festival of all things nerdy. But the convention has increasingly become about promotion -- and "How I Met Your Mother" can use that going into its 9th and final season. The full "HIMYM" cast -- Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan -- are scheduled to attend, along with executive producers Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and Pamela Fryman.Check out the full... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/06/comic-con-2013-how-i-met-your-mother-bones-and-more-20th-century-fox-tv-shows.html

Top Moments: The Office Has a Big Finish and Survivor Grins and Bears It

Our top moments of the week: 13. Most Fly Proposal: When Mindy decides she can't (read: doesn't want to) go to Haiti with her boyfriend Casey on The Mindy Project, she tries to back out by giving him a crazy ultimatum: She will only go if they are engaged. But since this is a sitcom, her plan backfires when Casey gets down on one knee at their bon voyage party and delivers the most ridiculous proposal. "I just had a little rap sesh with the notorious G-o-d. Know what 'G said? That's your girl, dude," he says. Be careful what you wish for. 12. The Best Laid Plans Award: On The Vampire Diaries finale, Stefan is finally ready to move on from Elena and his life in Mystic Falls until he comes in contact with Elena acting as the face of Silus. But as Stefan questions how Silus could still be alive, she explains that he is able to live on through a shadow self. Through a flash in the window, Stefan sees that Silus has morphed into his own shadow self. Before he can react, Stefan is staked and thrown in the river. Cut to black. Looks like Paul Wesley is back to playing a bad boy next season. READ MORE...
