Karneval Episode 9: Circus’ Allergy

Yogi is read to rooooooooooooooooooooccc – *coughs coughs* Okay, one more time: Yogi is ready to roooooooccckk!!! Yeaaaaaaahhhh-haaaaaaa! That sounded like a coyboy. You can say that Yogi is a person that hides all other matters that seriously affects his inner self or triggers his anger or sadness or any other negative emotions present in a human heart. In short, he’s a playing-safe kind of person with all smiles and denials. Other than that kind of personality, in a single case that I can think of, Yogi turned into someone like… Karoku? I mean, the hair color changed and he somewhat had a fetish and became dummier all of the sudden. Good thing head bumps works pretty well on idiotic characters. This happens a lot in anime. And Yes, I like that Yogi and Gareki atmosphere. Gives me more guts to sail a ship. No matter how curious I am with what happened to Yogi, please comments, do not accept any spoilers. LOL Let us just discuss what happened this episode, shall we? With Yogi’s issue solved, another problem shows up once again. READ MORE...

Karneval Episode 13: Experience [END] + OVERVIEW

First things first: That crying Gareki was totally unexpected. Not in a way that I do not expect him to be emotional on how useless or how of a burden he is on Yogi but for him to say those words with matching tears was totally off my prediction hook. Since Gareki’s forte is not really into combat but instead in mechanics, it is rather understandable that he’ll be a burden on the actual situation where he lacks equipments to do his thing. Of course, with a little training on battles added by Circus’ weapons (noting that he might be a candidate for Second Ship’s Fighter), he can overcome such weakness in a flash. READ MORE...

Karneval Episode 12: Childish Plan

I understand that this seems to be a trap too but considering Karoku has this unpredictable personality (actually, just like Nai is but Nai’s a little denser), there’s a side of me that is telling me that it is likely his way of seeing Nai once again – and I do not know what kind of relationship these two has so yeah, I’m just speculating here. But then again, Hirato has a point that even Circus is having trouble tracking down Kafka and this is their big chance to take a step on their main mission as the Defense Organization. I never knew that Araki is a defensive kind of person or prefers to be always safe. But then again, maybe he knows something about Kafka as well that the Circus doesn’t know too – especially the fact of the Research Tower having previous members which were dragged into the Varuga mess. The one who killed Gareki’s "family" is one of them. I’m sure there is more to our pink-haired guy than it was shown. READ MORE...

Karneval Episode 11: Karoku’s Location

You know what? I got this tiny little bit of a curiosity why Karneval’s episode titles are that weird and that deep. Even I don’t get any of the titles except for a few. I can even make better episode titles (hah! Me and my solemn boasting). Well, other than that… Again, this show just keeps on throwing in stories and names of group of people, and new mechanism of the enemies right after the other. I guess that’s one thing I don’t like about this show. I mean, there are just a lot of things that can create complex issues which is the result of one group and another. I think, if anybody can, I recall the one they called the enemy of Circus was a dark organization and later on another episode, mentioned Kafka as the name (which I actually thought back then was a name of a specie like Varuga lol). And now, there’s another name of a group mentioned that manifests Varuga subjects as well which is making this show earn a title for being broad. It’s not that bad, actually since the initial target of the show is still being met but for me, it is sometimes irritating. lol Especially about the poachers which the previous episode was talking about. The issue with them didn’t even last a few seconds more! Duh, since the previous episode talked about a member of the research group who used some drug on the specie. Still, this episode cuts the issue of the poachers stating that it the organization was already busted. Well, that was fun. READ MORE...

Karneval Episode 10: Heart’s Dreams

And soooo… after seeing a body covered in red roses in a small boat, going along the river, only an old woman chased after it to get the body and thinking it might be alive. WTH?! And the others just looked over the whole scenario?! LOL In normal circumstances, people have already gone around the body being curious. This is beyond my logic. XD Of course, Hirato is ALWAYS there to the rescue for his little favorite fighter. READ MORE...

Karneval Episode 8: Snow and Yukkin

I can’t believe Hirato is such a strict kind of captain who’s very keen when it comes to small details especially concerning his own ship. I mean, he even has to read reports concerning the play and the parade then scold Yogi and Tsukumo. But does he also mean the weird nature of the play where they tried to save Tsukumo from drowning? That was a must though. But you know, his smile is always the most rewarding thing ever given to every viewer. From now on, "Have a break" coming from Hirato, is something I couldn’t trust my whole life and that icy cold town is not going to be considered a ‘reward’ in my case. Ever. Those words seem dangerous. Knowing him, I do believe he wouldn’t accept that invitation from Tsukitachi. But I am really bothered on how Yogi and Nai had gotten their own color signature by tagging along with the Circus members. Those coats are a must have. Tsukumo is ever cute, by the way and I can’t believe she’s older than Gareki! Still, that doesn’t change the fact that she is, and always will be, cute. READ MORE...

Karneval Episode 7: A Parade

Tsukumo!!! Why have you disappeared! Well, yeah, it has been a while since I last saw this girl. A week or two weeks ago? Man, with these too many good characters of Karneval I wonder how they would be able to pull off the justified character development for most of the characters (because all would be totally impossible) on the anime (since I know the manga is running long already). And my long awaited costume for Nai came! *celebrates* After getting involved with the Circus, Nai’s been getting a lot of good clothes than his default one back from the first episode but I want something flashy like those the Circus people are wearing and here it is! Look at how adorable he is! While Gareki had to wear horns and was forced to look like Lambo from Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Tsukumo, please choose a better costume the next time. One that can boost your epicness in one pack. READ MORE...

Karneval Episode 6: Ending Their Lives

With Yotaka’s disappearance after receiving the last hit that caused his life – well, it’s not that he has a choice anyway – everyone who witness the loss was in despair (Hirato and Kiichi are exceptions). Come on, who wouldn’t? I mean if you’re a person with a good heart living a normal life and maybe someone who had experienced the same loss, you’d probably feel the same, right? For both Gareki and Tsubame, the loss of a brother is more than so many pains they can feel physically. Not only that, Yotaka’s loss is something that can never be rewind or something both of them can do anything about. But isn’t this another cliché thing? We get to see our characters develop because of this. Good character development is always achieved by (A) get all those who are precious to the character in grave danger or (B) kill those who are precious to the main character and eve better – make them witness their deaths. Not bad, right? READ MORE...

Karneval Episode 5: An Experiment

What?! Is that rasengan? Okay, wrong show but it does look like one and can I just simply say that THAT kind of power is so out of place with respect to its user’s specie characteristics? I mean, Yotaka’s like a vampire who longs for human blood and kills ‘em for food but then how? He blazes up a blue round thingy in any direction he likes to in order to step down on his prey. I swear, I expected a whip by then or something like, long nails on long claws while everything’s dripping blood but then I saw a blue orb, dancing on the air to get into his target. LOL I laughed at this (meh, this is Karneval anyway so I guess weird weapons and magic are normal). Gareki seems to be surprised of what’s going on as well (can I add maybe he’s surprised about the kind of attack being used as well?). With Yogi being that serious, this only means that Yotaka is on the climax stage of the drugs being fed to him from before, making him inhuman and uncontrollable by his consciousness. Considering how Gareki had been through and how his "family" filled his life after he had been washed away on a shore, I can understand why he’s so not into finishing Yotaka and stop him instead. Karneval Episode 4: Drug Dealing in Another Level

Oh my. I get to see Iva in this episode and her dazzling ability to attack using diamonds. I am not really sure how she produces that amount of diamonds (meh, I don’t even have to know since this show includes special powers) but she sure is one of those characters to be liked about. Wait, isn’t everyone in Circus supposed to be liked anyway? I believe, at the moment, there is no character in Circus that I do not like in particular. And to think that Iva, as a lovely lady, a very gorgeous and a model for all lady out there would also be a really cute and weird lady in her own beautiful way. I mean, her, treating Yogi like a kicking bag sure was something unexpected based on her appearance. Let’s just say, she’s one of the recipient of the saying "Do not judge the book by its cover". Plus points for her as well since she can carry Gareki. HAHA And to also see more side of Yogi and his cuteness is just… unbearably cute (this show just gave me more reason to ship my BL favorites – this should stop). READ MORE...
