As an avid Marvel Fan I have tried to like this show not just on its history and origins but for the story line that could have been, this show has most of the ingredients if not everything you would want in a great show to rival the brand, movies and characters, to have the opportunity to show an Omega Mutant and a true X-men Descendant.... but this is no near miss, with a below average expose of powers outside of the main character, a plot given by a person whom loves Marvel but has difficulties with basic story telling or the order of a story. I found myself fast forwarding most of season 2, to my own personal irritation as season one leaves the viewer perplexed only to continue with a further confounded story line! Five -Eight minutes of scenic shots and music that always feels like a car commercial, Introductory and interluded skits that leave you bored most of the time. Watching felt like being told about good marvel show by someone whom no longer remembers the whole story. Lastly, it has to be asked, it is the writers or the actors that are to be blamed for the time consuming expansion of a 2D scene over a 40mins episode... every episode!

S1E2: Very promising and I really like it, if it keeps going as it seems so.
S2E17: It is sad how it jumped from my favorite list to not watching or tracking list. I found the second season very boring and childish. Did I mention boring?

This has got to be one of my favorite shows. This is a show that really makes you go "huh!" at times. If you aren't paying enough attention, get distracted, or sneeze (maybe...) you could miss something really important or possibly nothing too important but yet everything seems to play and have some meaning in the story line. It's almost like the creator and writers are able to read you minds...or perhaps they all have seen the future and are just recreating what is (or fixing) suppose to happen... or they ran into ... The Shadow King and he needs the energy of every watching soul to fuel his power and to steal your mind from you.

Seriously that last bit might be true, this is a show I have to watch. I can't not watch it. Even if I'm dumbfounded and confused at what the hell is going on (like nearly the entire 1st season). I even have gone back to re-watch it to gain understanding, yes it does help or so the whispers in my mind say...

This is a great show. And oh for the love of sweet baby Jesus they have better give this thing a 3rd season and likely more than that. Having read up on the creation of this show last year, I do appreciate that they are trying to keep this separate from all the other Marvel shows. Not saying that there are no references to anything else but this is a standalone show, no crutches on the rest of the Marvel Uni. At least not so far.

A+ on this one.

I honestly don't feel like I always grasp or follow the full creative intent of this show but the mental challenge sure is interesting.

An amazing premeire, the production values are at a 100 million dollar movie level, the effects mind blowing, the suspence wonderful, the story mysterious and complicated. WOW.

UPDATE:
The second and third episodes go distinctly downhill in teleplay quality. And the creepy fat thing is very creepy... and creepily fat. Downgrading overall rating to 3 out of 5, as it's still a good X-Men origin story.

UPDATE: Season 2 is very slow... in the sense of little to no content. They get lost in cinematography and trying to create golden moments.... forgetting that they are suppose to be showing a story. Several several several epiosdes are about "the maze" where the main character gets lost in the minds of others trying to find out their secrets to unlock them. Its seriously boring and doesn't add that much to the characters.

BTW: Don't bother with the book "Ring Of Brightest Angels Around Heaven" from season 2 - its horrible. Bet the guy that wrote that garbage is happy they used the book on the show. The show is nothing like the book, not sure why they featured it.
