Sentai Filmworks Acquires ‘Log Horizon’ Anime Rights

The game is on and the stakes are real in   Sentai Filmworks’  newest acquisition:  Log Horizon.   This 25 episode swords and sorcery series based on the work of original author Mamare Touno (Maoyu) is directed by Shinji Ishihira (Fairy Tail) and features character designs by Mariko Ito with series composition by Toshizo Nemoto (Inu X Boku SS), sound direction by Shoji Hata (Kids on the Slope) and music by Yasuharu Takanashi (The Severing Crime Edge). Media Factory Sets Japanese ‘Log Horizon’ Anime DVD/BD Release Schedule

The fall season of shows is fully underway and more and more details surface about the home video plans for them. The latest comes from Media Factory as they’re setting plans for the 25 episode series  Log Horizon . The show is getting an eight volume release on both DVD and Blu-ray with regular editions for both, though first press materials are obviously going to be there at times. The Blu-ray releases will be priced at 8190yen each while the DVDs are set for 7140yen each with a new volume monthly starting on January 29th, 2014. Crunchyroll Adds ‘Log Horizon’ For Fall 2013 Anime Lineup

Crunchyroll has added another simulcast series that has already gone live and the first episode available as they’ve picked up  Log Horizon . Episodes will stream on Saturday’s, starting today, at 7:30 am ET for premium members and a week later for free members. The series will be available to viewers in North America, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, Scandinavia, and the Netherlands. ‘Log Horizon’ Anime Opening Posted

You don’t see opening sequences released out of Japan too much when it comes to using them as promotional pieces, especially with all the music, but  Log Horizon  has just done that ahead of its debut on October 5th. The series is the latest to use the whole gaming/fantasy combination to try and bring out something that we don’t see too often. New ‘Log Horizon’ Anime Episode Preview Is Plot Heavy

While we’ve had general previews for the series as a whole before,  Log Horizon  is shifting its game a bit ahead of the first episode of the twenty-five episode run that’s planned by doing a promo specific for it. Fantasy style anime continues to be few and far between in general, though when we do get them there is sometimes a nice change of pace, such as the winter 2013 season series  Maoyu .
