Criminal Minds' Matthew Gray Gubler: "We Pull a MacGyver Cliff-Hanger"

Like the skilled chess player Dr. Spencer Reid is, Matthew Gray Gubler was thinking ahead when he cut his hair last month (and he didn't do it himself this time). "Every year, they do these cliff-hangers, so it's like, if you want to change anything, you have to predict it and do it beforehand," the Criminal Minds star tells TVGuide.com. "[The haircut's] pretty good. I like it. It's summer fun." Criminal Minds producer on spin-off: "Our world just got bigger" The Season 5 closer is anything but, as the BAU team heads to Los Angeles to trail a serial killer (Tim Curry) who kills in the dark. 'MacGyver' the Movie Is Happening

" MacGyver " is getting a big screen treatment. The feature film version of the popular '80s TV series about a laid-back, but extremely resourceful secret agent will be produced by Raffaella De Laurentiis, daughter of "Hannibal Rising" producer Dino De Laurentiis, through her Raffaella Productions along with Martha De Laurentiis and series creator Lee Zlotoff. While there is yet writer attached to the project, the studio reportedly look forward to find a script that can acknowledge how the concept has staked a place into pop culture yet still makes for a serious and fun adventure movie. Of the film, New Line Cinema's Richard Brener stated, "We think we're a stick of chewing gum, a paper clip and an A-list writer away from a global franchise." "MacGyver" was a science-oriented adventure series that ran from 1985 to 1992 on ABC. Starring Richard Dean Anderson as Angus MacGyver, the series followed MacGyver as he solves desperate problems one after another using his practical application of scientific knowledge and inventive use of common items. After the series was canceled, two TV movies were made, and " Saturday Night Live " made a parody out of it entitled "MacGruber". Source here
