Season 3 is still coming, but that will be the end of it on Netflix.

Hopefully Season 3 can be the final Hurrah to the Netflix Marvel shows. Season 2 was a huge letdown, but I have faith 3 can be a worthy follow-up to season one.

These Marvel shows are being pulled to Disney's new streaming service.

I was just about to ask what about season 3, @tvqueen. Hopefully it's much better than season 2.

Lets see if Disney picks up the cast and continues the story.

Not surprised given they were all cancelled, but does Disney really think this is the way to treat loyal fans who have already invested time and often money into all of these stories? Not everyone is going to wait for these stories to be produced and start over to watch the Disney version, especially after the way they abruptly cancelled the licensing with Netflix, leaving us all hanging.

Out of all the Netflix superhero shows this was by far the best to me. Kinda sad to see it go, but totally not surprised.

@dinaofdoom - It wasn't Disney, although they played their part by pissing off Netflix by starting a streaming service. It was Netflix who made that decision to pull them, which IMO is just cutting off their nose to spite their face, because these shows pulled in viewers.

Wow, didnt realise there was beef between the two. I thought it was just Disney being selfish and wanting a big way to bring in new subscribers from the start of their streaming service.

This was the only one of the four I actually enjoyed. Just hope it ends with a resolution.

Im really think Jessica Jones 1 was the best of all this series, by slim margin with Daredevil.
I think the season 2 was good but "the bar" was high to reach.
I really want to see season 3 I kind have a hope Netflix recapacitated and bring back this shows: Both Luke Cage and Iron Fist have great finishes, Daredevil was really good, enjoy a lot Punisher and my personal favorite Jessica Jones. or at least a second seson of the Defenders to have a great ending.

Interesting @tvqueen when the first round of cancellations happened, I had read an article about how the licensing had been pulled from Netflix in anticipation of beginning their own versions on a forthcoming streaming service. If that's not the case and Netflix is basically axing everything now preemptively, that's just a lose-lose all around. This was my favorite of all the Defenders. We need more female superheroes.

@dinaofdoom, In Jan, Dan Buckley said, "We obviously want the Marvel Television series currently on Netflix to have a long and lauded run", and even last October, Ted Sarandos (Netflix) was saying "Those shows are for us to cancel, and we're super happy with their performance so far". I can only conclude, then, that Netflix stopped being happy and started being pissy because Disney ended the licensing agreement for first shot at movies on Netflix, the Pay-TV window, where Netflix had (has until end of 2019) exclusive rights in the US. It makes sense, because any Disney platform is going to want to run the movies when it comes time for them to come to streaming service. But the shows were supposed to remain. Regardless, the real losers are the viewers.

Yes, Disney is starting a new network and Marvel is a part of Disney, however they've decided the network will be used for kids so neither Daredevil, Jessica Jones or The Punisher will be continuing there. NETFLIX cancelled all these, Marvel was just as surprised with this as we are, since they were already creating the upcoming season due to again having top score ratings. Netflix claims it's because they want to let the series go on a high note, but there must be some kind of dispute between them and Disney. Disney did NOT want Netflix to cancel these shows either, it was purely Netflix's decision. Since Disney is a shareholder of Hulu there's now fan petitions getting signed for Hulu to take over these shows. Hulu is officially only available in America but Disney has plans for it to go worldwide in the future. You can sign the petition at savedaredevil. com.

@Evi Muselle That is intriguing, I wonder what went on inside Netflix, if they cancelled it themselves that is a strange decision. I almost can't imagine it has nothing to do with licensing. But maybe there's other reasons.

Probably nothing big. They probably decided they didnt want to fund what could be a future competitor to netflix as Netflix would have had to pay Disney for the rights. It would be like Ford having to pay General Motors to have a GM Engine in their car, complete with GM logos all over the engine.

Regardless of the reasons why, I am truly sorry to see Jessica Jones go. Krysten Ritter was amazing in this show and I loved watching her bring this character to life.

The characters will return in other shows on Disney Plus streaming service some time in the future. If that's any good news for anybody here. So not to worry, the shows may be gone but the characters live on!

I'm already getting annoyed with all of the different streaming services out there. I wish I could just have all of my shows with one service. Sites like Netflix are supposed to bring tv into the modern age, with easy accessibility and reasonable prices. I thought that would take the shape of one site, one app, one monthly bill, where viewers would be paying for the shows they actually want to see and not paying any money for the shows that they don't. Instead this is turning into a more complicated form of cable. HBO, Crave, Netflix, Amazon Prime --- How many of these sites will I have to pay for to get all of the shows I want to watch? How many passwords will I need? Why do companies continue to make it difficult to watch my tv shows legally? It is so much simpler to go onto an illegal streaming site to watch all of my shows. I don't want to watch shows illegally but it is much more feasible for me to do so.

M1sp1nk the only way to be able to do what you are suggesting is to rent out a series. Netflix however wont do this, as you visiting their site etc encourages you to view/see what else they have on offer. By having all your favourite programmes going to one app, would mean that it would have to have Adverts somewhere in the show, advertising other shows on that network.

To put it bluntly, here in the Uk, we pay for a advertless service called the BBC. Because the BBC doesnt have sponsorship ads, between each show, we get TV adverts in which the BBC uses these ads, to advertise other TV shows on the service.

@m1sp1nk Believe me I'm with you on that. Having the shows you want to watch all over the place is a bit exhausting. However, from a business stand point it is what it is. Don't forget this is all a money making business, and monopoly is not really a good thing, so it's good to have choices different of streaming services. The consumer suffers in the end by having to pay for all these different services but that's just life in the game of entertainment.
