Review of My Mad Fat Diary

60 minutes

Set in the mid-90s at the height of Cool Britannia, this six-part drama is based on Rae Earl's real-life diaries. It takes a hilarious and honest look at teenage life through the eyes of Rae, a funny, music-mad 16 year old who, despite an eccentric mother, body image and mental health issues, has a huge lust for life, love and trying to get laid.

This show consistently makes me cry but in like the best way. It is a really interesting portrayal of adolescence and body image issues and mental health and I have loved watching it over the seasons, i'm sad it's over.
