TV ratings: 'NCIS' reruns rule, 'New Girl' takes 18-49 demo

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, March 6, 2012With no "American Idol" to run the show, reruns of "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" ruled Tuesday night, winning the most viewers for the 8 and 9 o'clock hours on CBS.Elsewhere, "Cougar Town" held steady, and "New Girl" brought in 6 million viewers for FOX in its time slot, as well as the top spot for viewers age 18-49. Katy Perry's episode of "Raising Hope" grabbed 4.8 million viewers.CBS won for total viewers, drawing 11.5 million people and a 7.5 rating/12 share in households. NBC was a distant second (4.9 million, 3.1/5), with ABC coming in third (4.6 million, 3.1/5), FOX in fourth (4.5 million, 2.7/4) and The CW fifth (1.3 million, 0.9/1).FOX came out on top in the 18-49 demographic with a 2.1 rating for the night, beating out CBS (1.9), NBC (1.6), ABC (1.3) and The CW (0.6).... //

Sean Astin, Jocko Sims to Guest Star on NCIS

NCIS, and Jamie Lee Curtis, return March 20. In "The Tell", the Secretary of the Navy, Clay Jarvis (Matt Craven), partners Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Dr. Samantha Ryan (Curtis) after top secret government information is leaked by someone on the inside. Gibbs and Ryan on the same team, presumably? Should be a treat to watch. Meanwhile, Sean Astin of Rudy and The Lord of the Rings fame (below left) guest stars in the same episode as Tyler Elliott.  A week later, the March 27 episode is titled "The Good Son" and centered around Director Vance (Rocky Carroll). It will offer a rare glimpse into the character's personal life, along with the addition of a new family member.  Jocko Sims will play Vance's brother-in-law (presumably his wife's, or possibly his sister's, brother), Michael, who is brought into NCIS when he becomes the lead suspect in a murder case, according to TV Guide . //

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012Bringing "American Idol" on for a Tuesday night paid off big for FOX, though "NCIS" still won the most viewers for the 8 p.m. hour on CBS.Elsewhere, "Cougar Town" was down for the second week in a row.FOX won for total viewers, drawing 15.8 million people and a 9.3 rating/14 share in households. CBS was a close second (14.5 million, 9.2/14), with ABC a more distant third (5.6 million, 3.6/6), NBC fourth (5.5 million, 3.5/5) and The CW fifth (999,000, 0.7/1).FOX also came out on top in the 18-49 demographic with a 5.0 rating for the night, beating out CBS (2.8), NBC (2.0), ABC (1.6) and The CW (0.4).... //

TV ratings: 'Glee' up a little, 'Cougar Town' off slightly Tuesday; CBS coasts to victory

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012The last episode of "Glee" until April drew slightly better ratings than last week, but the numbers overall didn't bounce back much from last Tuesday's down night. CBS once again scored a big victory in viewers, although FOX made it a tight race in the adults 18-49 demographic.Elsewhere, "Cougar Town" fell just a little bit from its premiere last week, and "New Girl" and "Unforgettable" dipped as well. "Parenthood" and "Body of Proof," however, improved some.CBS won the total-viewer race by a huge margin, drawing 15.3 million people and a 9.7 rating/15 share in households. That was more than double the audience for second-place FOX (6.5 million, 3.9/6). NBC (6.1 million, 3.8/6) came in third, beating out ABC's 5.8 million viewers and 3.7/6. The CW scored 1.2 million viewers and a 0.8/1.CBS earned a 2.9 rating among adults 18-49, barely beating FOX (2.8) for the top spot. NBC... //
