A spokesperson for The CW says that the episode orders will be announced May 16 at their upfront presentation in New York City."The Carrie Diaries" was not a ratings juggernaut, but it had considerable success with online streaming -- which is a sweet spot for The CW. 'Nikita' Season 4 renewal: Will the show return for a final, shortened season?

When The CW announced renewals and pickups for several of its shows on Friday (April 26), only a couple of shows were left off of the list. There is no word on the fate of one of the shows, "The Carrie Diaries," but the news is a little more positive for the other, "Nikita." Nothing is certain yet, but the spy-action show may return for a fourth and final season.A lack of renewal for the low-rated "Nikita" isn't much of a surprise at this point. After all, The CW will not present its formal schedule until its upfront announcement on May 16. We probably won't hear any definite news on "Nikita" until then.Even though the show has always struggled in the ratings (often attracting less than a million viewers during its Friday-evening broadcasts), "Nikita" is a fan-favorite with the ability to sell overseas. Deadline has indicated that a 13-episode, final season would be the... //
