David Fumero has re-signed with the soap

Good news for fans of Cristian. 'OLTL's' David Fumero has re-signed with the soap and he'll be sticking around for a long while. Whether or not that means he and Layla (Tika Sumpter) remain a duo, however, is up in the air. Hmm ... could his character rekindled the romance with Jessica (Bree Williamson) if her romance with Brody (Mark Lawson) hits a rough patch? Source Here

Is 'One Life to Live' On the Brink of Cancellation?

Amid the fun and celebrations at last week's Daytime Emmy Awards, there was the nasty rumor that cropped up about 'One Life to Live' -- that for the second time this year, ABC is considering canceling 'One Life to Live.' Could it be true that ABC would pull the plug on the 42 year old staple of the daytime lineup? The answer, sadly, is yes. Even though the rumor has been debunked by Soap Opera Digest and SoapCentral.com, the threat of cancellation remains strong for 'One Life to Live.' And certain things that have happened in the past few months just add to the anxiety. The announcement by ABC that SoapNet would be replaced by Disney Junior means that there will be no outlet for daily soap reruns. Without the need to program SoapNet, ABC has less reason to keep the three daytime soaps going. It's just that simple. Of the three soaps, 'One Life' is struggling the most in the ratings. It's also the only ABC soap still shooting in New York, which is yet another example of how it's not a higher priority than 'All My Children.' The latter was moved to Los Angeles last December. Then there's the plethora of projects that have been developed for ABC daytime, including a Tori Spelling talk show. Would Brian Frons, head of ABC Daytime, be inclined to break up the three hours of soap opera that has been the hallmark of the network's afternoon programming for over 40 years? Comic Relief for One Life to Live's Michael Easton

Michael Easton has no plans to give up his day job as One Life to Live crime-buster John McBain. But it must be tempting. The actor turned fantasy writer just released Soul Stealer: Last to Die (DMF Comics), the third and final chapter in his series of critically acclaimed graphic novels about an ancient Etruscan warrior searching for his lost love across three millenniums. Come October, Easton will be back with yet another graphic novel, The Green Woman (DC/Vertigo), a supernatural noir detective story co-written with bestselling horror king Peter Straub (Ghost Story, The Talisman). Straub has only teamed with one other author during his sensational career - and that was Stephen King. TV Guide Magazine spoke with the daytime superstar about his kickass career as an author, his vampire past on Port Charles and what it's like to have so damn many lives to live. 'One Life to Live's' Scott Evans lands role in gay indie flick 'The One'

Proving that there is life after Kish, fired "One Life to Live" star Scott Evans has lined up his next project, an independent movie called "The One." Fans rallied in support of Evans and his co-star Brett Claywell after their gay storyline was written out of the soap. According to AfterElton, Evans' new film is described as "a quick-witted, tender romantic dramedy about a young, successful Manhattan investment banker who lives the charmed Upper East Side Manhattan life about to marry the woman of his dreams who, a month before his wedding, meets and unexpectedly falls in love with a charismatic man from his past.'' ABC Gives 'One Life to Live' A Vote of Confidence

It's been a tumultuous few months for ABC's daytime drama 'One Life to Live.' Recently, we reported that Tuc Watkins is returning, and they are bringing in a former scribe to be the associate headwriter, and the gay couple -- Kyle and Oliver -- were dumped. All that hubbub had us speculating about the future of 'One Life to Live' in an era when longtime soaps like 'Guiding Light' have been canceled and another legendary daytimer, 'As the World Turns' is ending it's run in September. Well, fans are concerned, too, especially after the story emerged last week about ABC Daytime developing a talk show for Tori Spelling. TV Guide went to the Jori Petersen, the head ABC Daytime PR, to ask if the Spelling show might threaten the future of 'One Life.' To Read More Click Here .

Tuc Watkins Returns to 'One Life to Live'

On April 4, we reported that 'One Life to Live' was making a change in the writing department by bringing in Jean Passanante as associate head writer to numero uno scribe Ron Carlivati. That was one step in trying to right the foundering ship that was 'One Life to Live,' and here's another: Actor Tuc Watkins is returning to 'One Life to Live' as David Vickers. Hooray! This is a great move, especially because unlike Watkins' previous reappearances in the last year or so, this will be a long-term visit. He is going on contract and will be there for at least a few months. That means they can write a good story for David, and that's what they need to do! Recently, Watkins has recurred on 'Desperate Housewives' as Bobby Hunter. The ABC primetime show won't return to production until July, and since Watkins is doing an off-Broadway show with Betty Buckley for eight weeks, it made sense for him to check back in to Llanview. And unlike some stars who won't even think about returning to their soap roots, Tuc Watkins clearly doesn't think that way. To Read More Click Here .
