'Outlander's' Ron Moore Will Adapt But Stay Loyal to the Book Series

Outlander showrunner Ron Moore vowed that he will adapt but ultimately remain loyal to the best-selling book series. The producer told reporters Friday at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour. The drama revolves around Fraser (), who ignites a passionate affair with Caitriona Balfe 's Claire, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743 and thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. Claire is pulled between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives. ‘Outlander’ Author on Starz Show Protagonist: ‘They Sort of Want to Lick Him’

Starz original series “Outlander,” based on the eponymous novel series by Diana Gabaldon, will stick closely to the book over the course of its 16 episode first season, showrunner Ronald D. News from all over TV:- The Starz adaptation of "Outlander" has added Simon Callow ("Four Weddings and a Funeral," "Doctor Who") to its cast. He'll play the Duke of Sandringham, an "opulent and flamboyant" nobleman who maintains his hold on power through a variety of alliances. "Outlander," an adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's novels, comes to Starz in 2014.- Former "Southland" star Regina King has signed on to FX's "The Strain." She'll play the manager of a rock star (Jack Kesy) who has fallen under the sway of an ancient vampire. [Deadline]- "Mob City" drew a smallish mob of viewers to TNT Wednesday night (Dec. 4). Starz Teaches Fans How To Speak ‘Outlander’

Before we can watch  Outlander  properly, we must first learn to speak some Gaelic. Should be easier than Klingon or Dothraki, right? At least it’s a real thing. Even if it was the hardest language to master in all the land, the lessons go down easy thanks to  Outlander  star Sam Heughan’s help. 'Outlander' casts Laura Donnelly as Jenny Fraser Murray

The Starz series "Outlander" has added another piece to its cast in Laura Donnelly.Donnelly, who co-starred in ABC's "Missing" in 2012, will play Jenny Fraser Murray in the series based on Diana Gabaldon's novels. The character is the older sister of 18th century Scottish warrior Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and runs the family estate, Lallybroch, when Jamie is away. She's married to Jamie's best friend, Ian Murray.Jenny also has a good relationship -- at least at first -- with Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), the 20th century woman transported back in time and forced into a marriage with Jamie.Donnelly's other credits include "The Fall," a British minseries distributed on Netflix here, and guest appearances on "Merlin" and "Hex.""Outlander," executive produced by Ron Moore ("Battlestar Galactica"), is filming in Scotland and is scheduled to premiere in the spring.... //

Starz and producers Sony Pictures Television has found “Outlander’s” young warrior heir. Roderick Gilkison will play the role of Hamish MacKenzie, TheWrap has learned. The Scottish newcomer’s role is described as handsome with red hair, Hamish is the son and heir to Laird Colum MacKenzie (Gary Lewis) and nephew of the MacKenzie War Chieftan, Dougal (Graham McTavish).
