30 minutes

The 10-episode comedy-fantasy mini is based on the short Tome Of The Unknown, which hails from Cartoon Network Studios’ shorts program and won the best animation short film at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival last month. Elijah Wood — reprising his role from Tome — Melanie Lynskey and Collin Dean lead the voice cast. Tome revolves around two brothers, Wirt (Wood) and Greg (Dean), who find themselves lost in a mysterious land and try to find their way home, aided by a wise old woodsman and a bluebird named Beatrice (Lynskey).

Over the Garden Wall is the sweetest animated mini-series a person could ask for. The series tells the story of two brothers, as they explore a fantastical world. It's both critically acclaimed and highly rated for a reason!

It's wonderful isn't it? It was whimsical and genuinely pleasant to watch. I'm fresh out of shows, so I'm off to raid your profile for something good.

Over the Garden Wall reminded me of Mushishi, and Kino's Journey. Both are in English if that matters.
Haha, I've been going through your lists for the past few weeks. Good taste :)

Thanks, I am working on Mushishi right now! I have been saving it. Have you seen Baskets? It's offbeat intelligent, and totally up your alley.

Baskets is okay, I never laugh out loud watching it, but maybe that's intentional.

Oh it is, it's honestly more of a take on American ennui than laugh out loud humor. Galifinakis loves to go meta. I enjoyed it because it's the most accurate portrayal of bleak ordinary American people that I've ever seen.
