Planet Earth Reviews & Ratings

Saturdays, 9:00 PM ET on BBC America

Sundays, on BBC

60 minutes

A lustrous and awesome series detailing various areas and animals of Earth. Narrated by Sigourney Weaver (US) or David Attenborough (UK) it appears on the BBC and the Discovery Channel. The documentary captures incredibly rare moments (snow leopards in Afghanistan, birds of paradise in New Guinea) in HD.

Fall in love with Earth in this beautiful and complex nature documentary. The wonderful scenes are beautifully shot and narrated by David Attenborough and I really cannot recommend it enough. I have a deeper appreciation for animals and plants alike.

It's just spectacular. We live on an amazing planet. I hope future generations will still have the beauty and wonder we have now. I hope in 100 years or so, they don't see this series and curse us for screwing it all up.

This documentary touches all aspects of life on earth and earth itself. The beauty of nature and what resides on this planet. I recommend this to people who love life and documentaries.

Ten years ago, Planet Earth blew our minds with its groundbreaking depiction of nature's ugly and beautiful moments. Well, technology has advanced quite a bit in the past decade and Planet Earth II is an even more vivid and stunning exploration of the drama of the natural world.

If you love nature and learning about the wild then this is the docu series for you. Every episode is so completely different that you will find yourself getting lost in the worlds of each and every creature that exists on planet earth. AMAZING filming and commentary. Does not bore you or disappoint. I would highly recommend that everyone see this documentary series.

Wonderful, a must watch.
BUT as with all of Dickies shows it leaves you feeling sad.
They will show you a beautiful idyllic scene then the animal will die or he will say something sad.
I think he watched too many Disney movies as a child.

I´d hate to be his grandchild at xmas: "My son I know how much you love train sets and how badly you wanted one (holds up huge box, grandson smiles) BUT they did not have one so I got you a Ninja turtle base, and the turtles are not anatomically correct, there are no turtles in nature like this at all".

I do my best to help save mother nature and the planet, I am even a vegan...but these shows leave me feeling helpless, they need to shove them under the noses of the big companies and do a follow up as to why the places are in danger. INFORM do not just leave us weeping!

Words are not enough to describe the experience: beautiful, vivid, enchanting, embracing, raw, and awe inspiring. All this and David Attenbrough too!

The absolute pinnacle of nature documentaries, this captivating exploration of our home planet goes to extraordinary lengths to find and film natures' wonders. Everything from the animals, to the plants and even the weather has been captured at its absolute finest and is narrated wonderfully and unobtrusively by David Attenborough. The breathtaking beauty of Earth is presented in such stunning visual splendor that, at times, you forget you too are a part of life on this planet.
