Ash, Iris, and Cilan arrive at the famous Skyarrow Bridge, their last obstacle before reaching Castelia City. Officer Jenny has closed the bridge because a blanket of fog has appeared over the bridge and won't disappear. They try crossing the bridge anyway, but a Gothitelle appears and attacks them. It easily defeats them and somehow sends them into the past! They must now discover Gothitelle's past in order to get back to their time. Meanwhile, they meet a girl named Sally and discover she has a connection to the Gothitelle.
