While on the way to Nimbasa City, Ash and friends come across a Cubchoo that has been separated from its pack and is injured. While trying to find some food for it, they are attacked by a pack of Beartic. They are saved by a man named Cliff and his Mienfoo. He reveals that the mountain they are on is home to two different packs of Beartic. However, due to a recent storm, the habitat of the second pack has been destroyed, causing them to wander into the territory of the other pack and causing them to attack unwanted guests. Ash and friends must now reunite Cubchoo with its pack while also trying to avoid the other Beartic pack. Meanwhile, Subway Bosses Ingo and Emmet begin investigating the subway systems to find out what is causing the disturbance.
