Up until this point I had really enjoyed Primal for its setting, interesting stories told in each episode, the gorgeous visual presentation and the great bond between the main characters Spear and Fang. This episode was something else. This was an incredible episode of TV and showcases some incredible art and animation while also demonstrating great visual storytelling in an intense and dramatic manner. Previous episodes had struck a nice balance between seriousness and light-hearted elements, and while this episode has some lighter moments, it takes a turn and becomes very dark, visceral and violent. I won't spoiler anything but I will say this episode had me absolutely enthralled, shouting at the screen and when it ended I was nearly speechless. It was a fantastically crafted episode.
