CBS Announces Cancellations of ‘CSI: Miami’, ‘NYC 22?, ‘Rob’ and ‘Unforgettable’

CBS has finally joined all of the other major networks in announcing their cancellations and renewals, handing out pink slips to the following shows: CSI : Miami , which will close down after 10 seasons taking down criminal in the sunny Florida city; The network said in a statement about the long-running series that "[It] leaves an amazing television legacy – a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade. TV ratings: 'American Idol' up Thursday, 'Big Bang Theory' dips

Fast National ratings for Thursday, March 1, 2012After a down week last Thursday, "American Idol" won big with its two-hour results show. But to every action there is an equal an opposite reaction, thusly "The Big Bang Theory" was down about 5 million viewers compared to last week. Notably, NBC's "Awake" premiere won the 18-49 demographic for the 10 o'clock hour. FOX naturally nabbed the top spot among total viewers, averaging 18.3 million and a 10.7 rating/17 share in households for the night. CBS (9.5 million, 6.1/10) finished second ahead of NBC (4.7 million, 3.1/5), ABC (3.7 million, 2.4/4) and The CW (1 million, 0.7/1).In the adults 18-49 demographic, FOX scored a big win with a 5.3 rating. CBS had a 2.1, NBC 1.9, ABC 1.1 and The CW 0.4.... //

TV ratings: 'Rob' opens big for CBS, 'The Finder' struggles, '30 Rock' beats 'Community'

Fast National ratings for Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012CBS' new comedy "Rob" got off to a surprisingly strong start for CBS Thursday, holding on to most of its "Big Bang Theory" lead-in and helping CBS lead the night by a wide margin.Other premieres were not so strong. "The Finder" opened to pretty soft ratings for FOX, and "30 Rock," while improving on "Community's" numbers from the fall, had one of its weaker outings.CBS scored 14.3 million viewers and an 8.6 rating/13 share in households for the night, leading second-place ABC (8.1 million, 5.1/8) by more than 6 million viewers. FOX took third with a shade over 7 million viewers and a 4.3/7. NBC (4.55 million, 2.9/5) came in fourth, while The CW drew 2.4 million viewers and a 1.5/2.CBS also led the adults 18-49 demographic, albeit not by as much. It earned a 3.5 rating to top ABC's 2.8. 'Rob!': Schneider's sitcom lacks laughs

Rob Schneider is nothing if not confident. At the Television Critics Association Winter press tour, the former "SNL" star and lead in "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo" compared his new series "Rob!" to such TV classics as "All in the Family," "Fawlty Towers" and "I Love Lucy." But how does it really stack up?The series, which is loosely based on Schneider's own life, follows Rob (Rob Schneider) and Maggie (Claudia Bassols), who elope after knowing each other for a very brief period. The wrinkle comes in because Maggie is from a large Mexican family who a) don't know Rob and b) when they meet him, don't like him. And the more Rob attempts to get in their good graces, the worse it gets.In the pilot, Maggie needs to tell her family that she ran off to Vegas and got hitched. Synopsis:  ¡ROB! is a comedy starring Rob Schneider as a lifelong bachelor who just married into a tight-knit Mexican-American family. Rob is a successful landscape architect  who, after a whirlwind romance, marries Maggie, a beautiful, smart fashion boutique owner, who is way out of his league. After eloping in Las Vegas, Maggie and Rob must break the news to her overprotective, judgmental parents, Rosa and Fernando, that they are married. Shocked by news that they’ve eloped, the family  remains skeptical of Maggie’s choice for a husband, with the exception of her uncle Hector, the black sheep of the family, who takes to Rob immediately, and possibly Maggie’s grandmother, Abuelita.
