History Channel premieres "Roots" on Memorial Day 2016 with a four-night, eight-hour series. "Roots" is a historical portrait of American slavery recounting the journey of one family and their will to survive and ultimately carry on their legacy despite hardship. "Roots" will be simulcast on A&E and Lifetime, in addition to History Channel. The stellar cast includes Forest Whitaker, Anna Paquin, Laurence Fishburne, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Anika Noni Rose, Tip "T.I." Harris, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Matthew Goode, Mekhi Phifer,James Purefoy, and introduces Regé-Jean Page and Malachi Kirby.
