I planned on watching this revival before Roseanne had her racist meltdown because I used to watch the original when I was a kid and I recall enjoying it. I was glad the show was cancelled due to her racist outburst and saw so many posts about how "great" and "amazing" the revival was so I thought I'd watch an episode, which led to my watching another and another.
So why did I watch more than one? Well, it seemed to be the exact show that I watched when I was kid, which is a very simplistic show about a lower income working class family but now they seemed to be addressing some modern issues that true conservative Americans would find unacceptable (for example a boy dressing in girl's clothes) and things that the stereotypical racist Trump supporters (note that I said "stereotypical") who love this show would hate, such as DJ adopting a black child. I kept watching to see how those topics would be handled, despite the fact that the actors who plays Becky and DJ seem to not have done anything to better their craft since the original show was cancelled and the quality of the acting on the show seems much worse generally, it's almost as if they are simply doing improv, but poorly.
Sure, it is an okay show, but I didn't see any examples of "great" or "amazing". I don't understand what it is that the show's supporters are going to miss so much. There's racism everywhere in every country, I say that as a Canadian, but I would never watch this support this show after Roseanne showed her true colours.

This show changed American television for the better. It was one of the few (and sadly still is) that featured working class families. And used realistic actors to portray them. It showed realistic struggles that come with unemployment and bad economies for the people Hollywood largely forgets.
It was groundbreaking for women behind the scenes and on camera. It heavily featured strong women without demeaning the male characters. They were complex and showed the real lives of women. They handled domestic violence, sexism, breast reduction, female friendships, teen birth control, etc. It included on of the funniest first period episodes of television.
It was also groundbreaking for LGBT issues. One of the first lesbian kisses on primetime network television. It wasn't done for ratings and Roseanne had to fight to have it aired. A hilarious over the top gay wedding. A variety of interesting LGBT characters.
Also: Riot Grrrls and Traci Lordes.
One of the most subversive shows to air. Thanks largely to Roseanne's constant willingness to take on producers and network execs. Just skip the last season.

This could have been a great reboot if it weren't for Roseanne's real life values pre-dating the Civil War.
Please change from "Concluded" to "Cancelled" to reflect that this show didn't end on a high-note like many other series do. ABC cancelled it and rightly so. Marking it as concluded is a disgrace to every other show that ended.

MY ABSOLUTE favorite, always and forever! I can't wait to have the extra cash to buy the ENTIRE series! I grew up watching this, my mom watched it all the time, Roseanne was like a second mom to me. I felt like I was part of her family to. And it resembled my family a lot. A CLASSIC tv show that EVERYONE needs to see!

Cut out the last two seasons, and this really was one of the best shows on television.
