CBS Renews ‘Rules of Engagement’ for 7th Season

It is the little  sitcom that could… …that’s right,  Rules of Engagement  just received  a 13-epiosde seventh season renewal from CBS after what is being  reported as lengthy negotiation between the network and Sony Pictures TV that were not concluded until after last week’s upfront presentations. 'Rulse Of Engagement' Finale: Audrey's Baby Shower

While there's been no official renewal yet for " Rules of Engagement " (Thu., 8:30 p.m. ET on CBS), neither has it been cancelled. It wasn't on CBS's Fall 2012 schedule, but they slotted it on Saturdays in Fall 2011, and the show never aired a single episode in that time slot. Instead, it played the reliable utility player and slotted into its current slot when "How to Be a Gentleman" crashed and burned. As such, it's reasonable to expect the network will pick it up in that role again. Especially with the series only 13 episodes away from that magic 100-episode syndication mark. That means there's every chance that fans will get to see Audrey have her baby. In this season finale, she learned the sex of that baby. Learning she was having a girl helped improve her spirits after the disastrous and accidentally last-minute baby shower Jennifer and Adam threw for her. It was at least better than Adam mixing up the "Guess the Weight" game by guessing Audrey's weight. Rules of Engagement Boss: We're Happy to Be Back — and to Be the Backup

Every now and then, Rules of Engagement creator Tom Hertz visits the show's message board on CBS.com. Outside of the requisite "Who's hotter?" polls, there are always a dozen or so threads about the same topic. "'This is still on?' 'Was it canceled?' 'Is it coming back?' and so on and so forth," he tells TVGuide.com. "It's usually positive. I mean, if you take the ... //www.tvguide.com/News/Rules-Engagement-Return-Tom-Hertz-1045411.aspx?rss=breakingnews

Rules of Engagement's Patrick Warburton: We've Never Gotten Any Support

It wouldn't be a Rules of Engagement season without more bumps in the road. Just when things were looking up for the sitcom — moving to Thursdays after being scheduled on Saturdays — it was dealt a blow this week: CBS will pull it off the schedule at midseason to make way for Rob Schneider's new comedy and has cut its episode order down to 15. The news is just another chapter in the topsy-turvy life of the show, which has been shuffled around the schedule since its midseason premiere in 2007, and it comes as no surprise to star Patrick Warburton .
