‘SNL’: Seth Meyers’ Goodbye Includes Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg and Fred Armisen

Amy Poehler, Andy Samberg and Bill Hader — playing Stefon — bid goodbye to Seth Meyers in his final episode of “Saturday Night Live” as a member of the cast. Fred Armisen also provided a cameo. Meyers, who takes over NBC’s “Late Night” this month, began his final “Weekend Update” in his usual understated manner. In between dropping topical jokes, Meyers welcomed new Update character, Buford Callaway (Taran Killam), who griped about the snow that plagued the South this week with a lovely drawl.   Read More... //www.thewrap.com/snl-saturday-night-live-seth-meyers-melissa-mccarthy-imagine-dragons-nbc

'SNL': Seth Meyers gets Amy Poehler, Andy Samberg and Stefon for his goodbye

Melissa McCarthy took on "Saturday Night Live" for the third time -- did it live up to her first two hosting gigs, where she turned in a couple of go-for-broke performances? Well ... not exactly. McCarthy always gives 110 percent, but the material given to her this time around was pretty weak. In fact, you could have just turned off the show after "Weekend Update's" goodbye to Seth Meyers. Thoughts on the episode here, with video to come Sunday morning:The GoodSuper Bowl Cold Open: With the premise that Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have to cancel on the Super Bowl halftime, the NFL grabs whoever is available and that turns out to be some Broadway stars. Melissa McCarthy Decks Kenan Thompson, Dances ‘Til She Nearly Drops in ‘SNL’ Promo (Video)

Melissa McCarthy will return to “Saturday Night Live” this weekend with musical guest Imagine Dragons. The show will mark McCarthy’s third go as host, but the funny lady doesn’t take kindly to the common locution that suggests this one will be “the charm.” McCarthy took cast veteran Kenan Thompson’s innocent uttering of the idiom as a suggestion her first two hosting attempts were terrible. Fists flew from the diminutive “Mike & Molly” star.   Read More... //www.thewrap.com/melissa-mccarthy-kenan-thompson-snl-saturday-night-live-promo-nbc-seth-meyers

'SNL' Promos: Melissa McCarthy Pitches New Super Bowl Names (Video)

Melissa McCarthy returns for a third time on Saturday Night Live -- with the Super Bowl and the Olympics topics of the hour. Because the Super Bowl isn't being broadcast on NBC (it's on Fox this year), the Mike & Molly star was forced to use NBC's pre-approved alternative terms for the big game. Rooting for the Seattle Seahawks or the Denver Broncos in the Live Ball War: The Game? Curious how the teams will fare in the cold weather during the Televised Man Battle With Ball? McCarthy and SNL regular Kenan Thompson seem to think one of these terms will catch on.  Read More...   //feedproxy.google.com/~r/thr/television/~3/nblnP8XzI1w/story01.htm
