Cancellation Buzz: These TV Shows Are in Danger

CBS handed out early renewals today to 16 shows, including freshman series Bull , Kevin Can Wait , MacGyver , Man With a Plan , and Superior Donuts . Also back next season are dramas Blue Bloods , Hawaii Five-0 , Madam Secretary , Scorpion , NCIS: Los Angeles , and NCIS: New Orleans , in addition to comedies Life in Pieces and Mom . ( The Big Bang Theory and NCIS already secured pickups). Not surprisingly, reality royalty Survivor and news shows 60 Minutes and 48 Hours were renewed. Some big names remain on the CBS chopping block: 2 Broke Girls , Code Black , Elementary , Criminal Minds , The Odd Couple , and Undercover Boss . No decision has been made about rookie comedy The Great Indoors . The Amazing Race 's fate has yet to be decided, but its new season doesn't premiere until March 30. And Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders just recently began its second season, so its omission from the early renewals is not surprising. Besides Doubt , which lasted just two weeks, the CBS shows most likely to be canceled are Ransom , Hunted , Pure Genius , and Training Day . The other broadcast networks have made far fewer early renewals. On the bubble at NBC are Powerless , Emerald City , Timeless , and Blindspot . It's too early to tell for Taken and Trial & Error . Son of Zorn remains a tossup, as are fellow FOX shows Pitch and APB . The Exorcist is the most likely new series to be axed, but Rosewood and Scream Queens are also in serious danger. On the bubble are Sleepy Hollow and Wayward Pines . Conviction is all but canceled, as is fellow ABC drama Notorious (although neither has been officially axed). Probably joining them are Secrets and Lies and Time After Time . The CW likely has been waiting to find out whether Netflix subscribers will be wooed by No Tomorrow and Frequency , which are now streaming. It would take a lot of interest to save them, however.
