TV ratings: Olympics up slightly Wednesday, 'American Idol' steady but low

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014The short program in women's figure skating Wednesday helped NBC's Winter Olympics ratings improve some on the previous night, although it was off a bit in adults 18-49 compared to the same night of the 2010 games. Per usual, though, NBC's numbers were far and away the best of the night. "American Idol" was about even with its performance Tuesday but came in below its season average. "Super Fun Night" ended its season on ABC with a series low in the 18-49 demographic, and CBS' "Criminal Minds" and "CSI" dipped as well.NBC delivered 20.1 million viewers and a 12.2 rating/19 share in households in primetime. FOX (9.9 million, 6.0/9) finished second. CBS took third with 8.4 million viewers and a 5.5/9. ABC (2.9 million, 2.0/3) came in fourth, and The CW (888,000, 0.6/1) trailed.NBC scored a 5.0 rating in the 18-49 demo, almost doubling the 2.6 for second-place... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/tv-ratings-olympics-up-slightly-wednesday-american-idol-steady-but-low.html

'Super Fun Night' Season 2: What Rebel Wilson has in store if it's renewed

Rebel Wilson's Kimmie might have chosen which guy she wanted to be with in the "Super Fun Night" Season 1 finale, but the creator and star tells Zap2it that she already knows where she wants to take the character -- and her two former wallflower friends -- in Season 2. "I feel the show's tone is very performance-driven, and we push things -- especially in the dramatic sides of the characters, which we saw in the finale," Wilson says. For a potential Season 2, which Wilson and showrunner John Riggi have already started planning, "we'll be going even further finding that balance between drama and comedy as the girls who thought they'd come out of their shells a bit before get sent into more difficult social situations and interactions that they have to overcome. So there's lots of cool things planned -- and of course, more musical numbers." Wilson says she's learned a lot during... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/super-fun-night-season-2-what-rebel-wilson-has-in-store-if-its-renewed.html

'Super Fun Night' Season 1 finale: Rebel Wilson's sitcom wraps as inessential as it began

Never has there been a sitcom as confusing as "Super Fun Night." Okay, that's probably an exaggeration, but what a frustrating show this was in its first (and likely only) season, which wrapped on Wednesday (Feb. 19). When the Rebel Wilson-created sitcom premiered on ABC this fall, it seemed like such a wasted opportunity. Fresh off "Bridesmaids" and "Pitch Perfect," Wilson's star was white-hot, so a sitcom built around her brand of comedy felt like a sure-fire hit. Unfortunately, it wasn't.First, there was the issue of Wilson insisting on making her character, lawyer Kimmie Boubier, an American, forcing the actress to rely on a shaky accent. Why couldn't Kimmie just be Australian? Who knows. Then there was the plot of the show. Originally about Kimmie and two best friends Helen-Alice (Liza Lapira) and Marika (Lauren Ash) embarking on a new fun night out each week in the hopes of coming out of their shells, but eventually... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/super-fun-night-season-1-finale-rebel-wilsons-sitcom-wraps-as-inessential-as-it-began.html

'Super Fun Night' finale: Rebel Wilson and the cast's epic Queen singalong

In the season finale of ABC's "Super Fun Night," Rebel Wilson's character, Kimmie, has a tough decision to make: Should she try to make things work with her boss, Richard, with whom she shared a romantic kiss, or try to win back her boyfriend, James, who breaks up with her after he finds out about said kiss? "At the start of the series Kimmie and her two friends were really like baby chicks just coming out into the world, and by the end of [Season] 1 my character has two guys who are interested in her and she doesn't quite know how to deal with it all properly," explains star and creator Wilson. "Kimmie knows that she has to choose one of them, so in the season finale she chooses who she thinks will be the best for her." Naturally, the action concludes "in true 'Super Fun Night' style with a huge musical number... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/super-fun-night-finale-rebel-wilson-and-the-casts-epic-queen-singalong.html
