'Supernatural': Meet the Leviathan... and don't drink the water

In its Season 7 premiere, "Supernatural" introduced a whole new kind of monster. We figured we'd seen it all - demons, angels, racist trucks... but the Leviathan are more terrifying than we expected. As legend tells it, God created Leviathan before he created humans or angels -- and they were so dangerous, he had to create Purgatory just so he'd have a place to lock them up. Now that Castiel has set them free, the Leviathan are having a fantastic time on Earth. Basically... we can expect them to treat our world like it's Charlie Sheen's hotel room.In a lot of lore, the Leviathan are sea monsters, so it's not much of a surprise that one of their first acts of delinquency is to slither into the water supply. We love the newest promo, which starts off like your average local commercial... and then gets gruesome. Tune in to Episode 2, "Hello Cruel World," on... //

'Supernatural' Season 7: Dean breaks a leg, Sam out of commission

On the Oct. 7 episode of "Supernatural," Jensen Ackles wears a hospital gown. Oh, sorry. You wanted to hear about the plot? The CW has just released photos from the episode titled "Girl Next Door," which Ackles directed. In the episode, Sam (Jared Padalecki) follows a dangerous lead on a case with a creepy similarity to a case Sam solved as a kid. Yes -- Colin Ford will return as young Sam. Jewel Staite guest stars as a high school sweetheart of Sam's who comes back into his life at a rather inopportune moment. The problem is, she's not exactly his "sweetheart" so much as she's a demon who eats brains. Fun times, right? Not so much. By the looks of the pics, Sam and Dean have a pretty rough go of it on this case. Dean's entire leg is in a cast and he's limping around on crutches, while Sam appears to be completely unconscious. It looks... //

Supernatural Photo Preview: A Trip to the Hospital in Episode 7.03

The October 7 episode of is directed by series star Jensen Ackles.  He'll be appearing more in this episode than the season 5 episode he directed ("Weekend at Bobby's), but the writers seem to have come up with a way to put him out of commission for a while: Dean is breaking his leg. We're not sure exactly how it happens, but both boys end up in the hospital.  Perhaps as a result of fighting Castiel and the Leviathans in the September 30 episode?  Regardless, it looks like Dean gets very angry when Sam takes off to solve a case. Sam quickly realizes that this case relates to one he investigated as a teenager.  Colin Ford will be returning as teenage Sam Winchester.  Years ago, John and Dean left him in a motel to attend school while they went off on a hunt.  But Sam found a hunt of his own when he came across a demon.  As an adult, Sam comes across the same demon, only now he's possessing a woman named Amy (guest star Jewel Staite), who Sam had known as a teenager herself. TV Ratings: 'A Gifted Man' debuts well, 'Nikita' matches series low

Fast National ratings for Friday, Sept. 23, 2011The first Friday of the new TV season made for moderate debuts, at best, for returning series. CBS's freshman drama "A Gifted Man" was a success with 9.3 million viewers. While FOX had its best fall premiere Friday in six years, the "Fringe" season premiere was down 21% from last year's season opener -- which, of course, was on a Thursday. It was up from last year's finale, though, which is good news, because the FOX execs have made it clear that they don't expect the "Fringe" audience to grow. The CW's openers were lackluster. The premiere of "Nikita," moved from Thursday, tied its series low. "Supernatural," while on par with its Season 6 finale, was down 25% from its Season 6 premiere.... //

Wow.  How's that for a season premiere?  Supernatural returned and fans were on the edge of their seats throughout the entire episode.  Then it seemed like everything would be okay.  Until we were left with yet another crazy cliffhanger. Castiel went on a "right the wrongs" rampage with his new god-like powers - smiting liars and non-believers.  Back at Bobby's house, Dean decided to fix the Impala.  After all, there was absolutely nothing he could really do to stop Cas.  Until they came up with the idea to summon and bind Death.  They performed the ritual and Death was not pleased to be called to stop Castiel or help the Winchesters.  Cas showed up soon after, he and Death had words, and he unbound him before disappearing.
