Review of Swamp Thing

When CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

Okay, this is new even for me. Canceled before the second episode airs. That's alright. From what I saw in the previews these guys should be working on undoing the damage to 'the thing' franchise anyway. Mid season update: while the first episode still stands out, the others have maintained a strong baseline and it really shows in the review averages. It's as rare for me in the best as in the worst of times to look at the numbers and feel they representative, but the crowd seems to be on the same page. Hopefully, it isn't merely because the 'cancellation' scared the majority of viewers off.
