Tenjho Tenge is a seinen anime and manga series created by Oh! great. The title is said to be from the saying of the Buddha when he was born: which means "I alone am honored on Heaven and Earth."The manga is currently running in Shueisha's Ultra Jump in Japan. The manga is being officially published in North America by DC Comics in the CMX label. The CMX English version is edited to reduce the sexuality and market it with a T (Teen - 13 Yrs and older) rating, a controversial move in the eyes of many North American fans, but is now marketed with an OT (Older Teen - 16 Yrs and older) and contains far less editing than before. The editing was done with Oh! great's approval. In the Philippines, there were no scenes removed but in scenes that the breasts are almost exposed, they are pixelated or blurred because it is shown in an early timeslot; there is also a parental guidance warning proceeding each airing. The anime, directed by Toshifumi Kawase and produced by Avex Mode and TV Asahi, was broadcast on TV Asahi in Japan from April 1 to September 16, 2004 and it is licensed Geneon Entertainment.
