Review of The Colbert Report

30 minutes

The Colbert Report is an American satirical television program on Comedy Central that stars comedian Stephen Colbert, who previously became well known as a senior correspondent for The Daily Show. The Colbert Report is a spinoff and counterpart of The Daily Show that parodies personality-driven political pundit programs, particularly Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor.

So far I'm sorely disappointed. We knew that Colbert would have to be himself, but after struggling with the first few hows, he has reverted to a mixture of his Comedy-Central character with his new Talk show self. His constant call for comparison with the other night shows is boring. They don't care. Fallon does his own thing, and Colbert knocks off the bits he likes. Not impressed with the band who seems boxed into a role that does not give play to their full array of talent. However, we may settle into it as time goes by. It seems to waver in second or third position. I'm happier using my time watching Trevor Noah or Larry Wilmore, but definitely Jimmy.
