Hit or Miss

The Odd Couple is pretty inconsistent in the level of laughs it brings. I suspect this is because of multiple writers.
Sometimes its very funny, other times its not so much.

The characters are all funny people, which is key in a comedy in my opinion. This makes the Odd Couple slightly less situational humor and more standard. That being said, it is still a sitcom as you can infer from the premise.

I've always liked Matthew Perry -- he always plays the same character. The straight man with sarcastic witty comebacks and great side-eye stares. He returns with that archtype and is forced to live with a hypochondriac neat-freak who pushes his absurdities to the extreme. As with the original series, it makes for some truly funny scenarios but the show is only as good as its writers and I feel like some of them are better than others.

Worth watching if its on. Not worth going out of your way to watch. Try One Big Happy instead.
